Vape shop hipster blaggers....

down here in brighton, we loads of vapes shops, & its all the same some twat with a beard & obligatory checked shirt, calling you bruv as soon as you walk in the door, or blowing clouds directly in your face, then i just walk out, its either that or id end up thumping the twats & dont like the idea of 8 hours in a cell ;) but saying all that we have one decent shop that sells fairly decents mods & there own range of liquid & dont call you bruv or blow clouds in yer face lol.

vape uk in hove by any chance ?

I always thought hipsters were Shoreditch types who wore jacked up skinny jeans, waistcoats and had well kept beards and waxed moustaches and wouldn't be seen dead wearing a snap-back. Am I confused?

You are quite correct. Hoxton types.

I think the vape hipster is a pseudo hipster and not actually a hipster at all. It makes me sad for the industry as there are some right dicks out there with little or no customer service skills at all and this annoys me immensely. I’d love to go into a shop and be spoken to properly. I’d probably buy something! The time I have I did buy something and learned something too.

Sadly I don’t think it only applies to vape shops though. There seems to be a void for decent customer service these days and I’m so glad places like supermarkets are employing the elderly who actually know how to speak to you and hold eye contact.

Christ I sound like an old git

You're not wrong. The company I work for has a few different brands, mostly online only but the one with the helpful UK based call centre is growing so fast we can barely keep up. Granted it is geared towards older people who prefer the phone to the Internet but good, caring, personal customer service has sadly become a novelty and, as a result, a massive selling point.

In the end they’re trying to make a sale. Same as online. It’s a shame that people who have the depth of knowledge we expect aren’t generally employed by B&M’s but to be fair, that kind of knowledge costs. It’s the same with everything I’m afraid.

I was chatting to a sales rep from British American Tobacco a few months back (Boo, Hiss, Boo!!).

She was talking about other vape shops she visits and mentioned a fairly well known chain with a good online presence. Chatting to their owner and he said the biggest problem he has is finding knowledgable and quality staff to work in his shops.

I think this is a fairly common issue in many B&Ms.

I help out up at Manabush Vape Cafe but really only so I can enjoy chatting to fellow vapers and trying lots of new goodies. I'm fairly lucky it isn't my main job so I don't depend on it to pay the bills. Retail pay in general is poor, vaping though requires a very specific knowledge base. Guys and girls in that position should be paid more.

*EDIT*

Not saying Manabush Vape Cafe doesn't pay well! It pays better than any other retail jobs I know but the fact is 3 of us who work there all know our stuff fairly well and wouldn't be seen dead in a snapback!

It's good to hear there's a lot of good stores out there, i got talking to a guy at my local yesterday who'd never seen a sqonker. He told me about a shop thats been open for a while, it's in an area I neber really go to so I'm going to go down later and have a look.

My main issue with the broski type places is that i picture my mother/mother in law going in to them, the mother in law was £80.00 for a smok mag grip a while ago. I pretty much make all their juice and do a bulk orders for stock coils for them, my misses and the few i still use. I get the places need to make money so cant sell at same prices as yoy get online and theres probably a bit of preassure on these broskis to sell, sell, sell. I just think they go about it the wrong way and don't care what you actually want/need.

yes vape uk in portslade, not a bad shop & you get to try before you buy.

I purchased two Freemax Fireluke tanks from them this week as they were a bargain in the clearence section, ordered at 5pm arrived next morning with free rock and 10ml juice, a great shop in my opinion.

Unfortunately vape shops in Dublin are generally terrible but the hipster thing hasn't hit yet at least!
