.. the whole thing justs stinks of bullshit
Well, yes - because it was bullshit...

Regulated mods should have a setting which stops the user going over 5V. No matter the wattage, anything over this and the juice starts getting hot.
That's quite a sweeping statement without any qualification as to why juice getting hot is problematic, especially from a vendor!
Doesn't the juice need to get hot to produce vapour? Isn't it the wattage, and also the airflow that determines the temperature of the coil, and in turn the temperature of the juice?
Can you elucidate on your statement?
You're all aware this was a lie aren't you? The fella was depressed and fired a blank round into his mouth and consequently made up a story to cover his shame and embarrassment. Sad really. [ref. Plumes Of Hazard]
(I didn't mean juice, I meant vapour)
I test every product I stock and no matter which clearomizer, juice or battery I use I always find that the vapour starts getting too hot upon inhalation above 5V. You can have 100W at 4V which produces a helluva lot of vapour without it being too hot and you can have a more limited, hot vapour at 18W and 6V.
There's no reason to ever go above 5V. Question for everybody: Does anybody in this thread ever go over 5V?

I do. My Mutation X is dual coiled at 0.85 ohm, set at 40 watts it's using 6.0 volts. It isn't hot, it's not even warm.
Series mech box users need not apply.
