Hi

I have just had the Vapestick Design delivered today....since ordering it I have read of some maybe nasty side effects that vaping can give you. Is it that bad? Surely its better than actually smoking? Will i start to feel a bit healthier?

I smoke 20-30 a day, lately have had lots of headaches, anxiety, palps, tight chest.

Hoping I can stop the smokes with vaping....then maybe come off that too eventually.

Please tell me its better than smoking for me?

Scared to start it now......

Thanks

Christine

The side effects are not really the vaping, more the crap that has already been inhaled trying to clear from your system. Sometimes you can feel abi shitty for a few weeks although most people are fine. Vaping is soooooo much better than smoking. You'll be fine. If you get headaches it's just a matter of finding your nicotine levels. I wouldn't class the side effects as nasty either-someone's been telling porkies me thinks!

Welcome to getting rid of all those nasties from your body!

Your body is going to go through serious changes for the next 12 weeks or so from quitting smoking, science and all that jazz has all ready proven what happens... this pic is really good at explaining it, dont mind the nic leaving your body because this isn't what you are trying to achieve.

I have been vaping nearly a year (and I am overweight) but I can attest to my breathing improving very much so. A lot of asthma sufferers that vape also report increased peak flow Rara and Tromain can explain this better as they both recently have attested to what their docs and nurses have said :)

Keep in mind, PG is used in asthma inhalers so it is a perfectly safe way to deliver nicotine, just as it is safe to deliver life saving medication. VG is also medically approved and various studies can be found that show there is no effect on the heart or lungs and no second hand "smoke" or nicotine risk to those around you.

There is a lot of negative propaganda on the interwebz, mostly designed by die hard anti smoking quit or die fanatics and to be scare tactics. The Online vaping community is going to be your best bet in finding true and factual information :) and thats why PoTV is here :D

:welcome: to the forum!

Hi All

Thanks so much!!! feel lot more reassured now (am a born worrier anyway without reading scare stories).

Am hoping to start feeling a bit more alert, livelier etc after a while of using the vapestick...it makes sense really not going to be getting all the tar etc...

Out of puff so easy just lately.

Thnaks again for your help.

LOVE THE SITE BY THE WAY...think i will be a regular for advice & chat.

As KMS has said, I've noticed a huge change in my asthma since changing to vapeing, I was pretty much house bound my asthma was so bad, having asthma attacks just going down the stairs! In the 10 months I've been vapeing I've been told I'm no longer classed as an asthmatic. Yes most of that change is just packing in the fags, but the nurse explained to me that my lungs were working 3-4 times better then she would have expected compared to others in my condition that had simply quit smoking. Her theory was that the PG in the juice we vape was acting much like the inhalers were keeping the medicine lingering in my lungs longer then usual, and helping clear the crap out of my system at a faster rate.

I can now play with my son, I don't have asthma attacks every time I go up or down stairs, vapeing gave me a new lease on life that I thought I would never have! You may get some side effects from vapeing, but all in all they are usualy just minor things(sore throat being the big one) but keeping hydrated or lowering nic content will see that sorted most of the time.

If you ever have any worries just ask on this forum, we are all eager to help :)
