VAPING HELPS QUITTING! It's (pretty much) official!

So its taken a team of research scientists and a substantial grant to quantify what many have already managed to work out for themselves.

Shame the antz and the corrupt pricks in the eu will fail to grasp the idea that these things work and are less risly than smoking tobacco.

As for the welsh government, will they be banning water next as it normalises vodka? To bad we cant ban politics as it normalises corruption, back stabbing, fraud and stupidity!

I've just watched a piece on the bbc about this, prof west was articulate as ever, the bbc then stated the facts in relation to how between 60 and 63% of people are stopping smoking using ecigs as opposed to traditional nrt products, all well and good-BUT-the piece was ended by the presenter stating that the most effective way to stop smoking was by far to use nhs smoking cessation clinics(don't think they were referring to louise ross and the leicester service)who advocate the use of nrt !!!!
Just when it looks like they're finally getting it...

I found that weird, especially as there was a comment about not knowing whether people stopped for good with e-cigs. How long do those NHS clinics monitor people for? I thought they only gave support for something like three months.

Having been there, and taken their £25 for participating. It was only a matter of time, until they said it.
Having been a smoker for 35 years, and now tobacco free for 10 months. My breathe analyzes came back, the same as a non-smoker. And they did it twice, to make sure. 2ppm for those that are interested in such things.

I think the key with NHS clinics is that they provide moral support and advice during the quitting process. I wonder if they have even taken into consideration that forums like this provide exactly the same sort of support, and importantly it is believable because it comes from people who are going through or have come out the other side of the same process, not some nurse who has never smoked in his/her life.

As far as i know,if you don't smoke for a certain period of time-i think its 4 weeks-you are classed as a non-smoker,regardless of wether you start to smoke again or stop completely.
The part i found contradictory was them stating that ecigs have a far higher success rate than nrt,and then saying a service which only promotes nrt was the best proven way to stop.
BBC impartiality aside, its about time the bbc got off the fence, theres enough evidence,as we all know, out there to show theres only one side to this, and thats that ecigs work.

At least the BBC are now prepared to give out some of the good news. The case for vaping is definitely gaining ground which must be worrying the 'quit or die' brigade.

Really nice stream of positive articles on mainstream media these days. Shame there is still a lot of badly researched ones coming out too, but hey, it's a step in the right direction.
