Vaping the WHO and COP10

Came across the link below on the NNA's site that summarises the above. It's scary stuff as the WHO wants to set itself up as a global health regulator. It beggars believe countries would sign up for this but who knows. Just fired off an email to my MP politely saying what I think to it.

Yep, been following this for a while. Our Govt looks like getting on board with it. Its nothing to do with health. Its control.
Remember the pandemic start and their advice, it was all over the shop.
Follow the money trail.
This from one of your top cardiologists.
"Dr Malhotra points out, for example, the obvious problems that follow when national regulators – responsible for ensuring that new pharmaceutical products are safe before they are authorised for public use – are dependent on Big Pharma funding. “Most people don’t know that”, he says. “The Chair of the British Medical Association didn’t believe me that our regulator takes 86 per cent of its money from Big Pharma”. Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) derives 96 per cent of its income from the companies it is supposed to be regulating. Seventy per cent of the World Health Organization’s money comes “with strings attached”.

Dr Malhotra’s point is, of course, that these organisations are not truly independent. Nor is the compromising influence of Big Pharma confined to national regulators:

“Basically, what we have is increasing visible and invisible unchecked power of Big Pharma over the last several decades – over regulators, academic institutions, the media, politicians. And now we are dealing with the consequences of it."

Covid was the kick off they wanted. Now they roll it out.

Malhotra has some far out opinions, but Ben Goldacre is pretty solid. He has similar concerns (more grounded in reality), among many others:

Chapter three describes the concept of "regulatory capture," whereby a regulator – such as the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK, or the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States – ends up advancing the interests of the drug companies rather than the interests of the public. Goldacre writes that this happens for a number of reasons, including the revolving door of employees between the regulator and the companies, and the fact that friendships develop between regulator and company employees simply because they have knowledge and interests in common. The chapter also discusses surrogate outcomes and accelerated approval, and the difficulty of having ineffective drugs removed from the market once they have been approved.[19] He argues that regulators do not require that new drugs offer an improvement over what is already available, or even that they be particularly effective.[20]

aye, what goldacre describes is undoubtedly true, and happens in all areas of business and politics. capitalism and representative democracy corrupts. look at the trajectory of some formerly powerful politicians.

but that doesn’t mean there’s a shadowy group of evil genius billionaires cooking up a pretext to “roll out” a dastardly plan for world domination and enslavement as @Tazz seems to believe. it’s just every day corruption and greed, unfortunately.

Not exactly, but the when you've got a revolving door between regulation and industry, I'm not convinced it's soooo far off the mark. Like the Timor Leste / Woodside situation in Oz. Different industry but same revolving door setup that allowed it to happen.

oh well, now that the opinion of someone who knows of what he speaks has been broadcast, we can stop worrying about the billionaire elites, who, I am reassured, like us really. TBH, I am more inclined to listen to the likes of @Taz.
