6 wraps, 24g, spaced coil.

Think it's something to do with contact coils for me. Will stick to spaced coils for the time being until I get some other bridges to play around with.

To answer the question nobody asked:

Can you use Atemporal mesh wicking gauze in the Ponte?

Yes you can

They do come up a few mm short though, so you need to keep an eye on your juice level compared to using the SS rods.

As to whether they work any better or worse? I honestly can't say I notice any difference at all!
