What Devices Should We See More Of?

Part of the design problem is the standard 22mm base size which is a throwover from the days of tube mods, but they do allow for more room to fiddle, but the old protanks and some ego size tanks were damned good.
Maybe we need to go backwards slightly to move forward or even design an entirely new form.

There's something in that ... The strike 18 is a perfect example of this ... it's 18mm, the deck is about as basic as it comes, and it has a hole drilled in the side for airflow .... and it's brilliant.

as @eyeball kid will tell you, I resisted buying one for so long because it just looked so shit and I couldn't see how something so simple and basic could be so good. .... I was wrong and it's made me question my whole ethos about airflow and deck design.

I've been everywhere man. As Johnny sang (not originally I know but that's for another thread. I've tried every thing from 14mm -25mm and 18mm is a perfect chamber size for mtl. I always prefered under coil airflow like the snapdragon but the strike and speed revolution have proved a simple small airflow in the side straight to the coil is just as good of not better. A very similar design with tight fit tolerances, built with quality o rings and freely available at a sensible price would be mtl perfection.

Vaping on my speed rev right now ..... all $7 of it.

1ohm kanthal coil, no adjustable airflow, no adjustable anything on the pulse (a £20 plastic box) ...lol, by all rights it should be rubbish.

But it's as good as a vape as anything else I own, and it's dead simple ... it makes me wonder if we are just conning ourselves with all these multiple airflows, different inserts, this that and the other when a simple atty with a hole in the side does the job better than most.

I would pay for a high quality, good looking tank that took naturevape coils actually.

I think @simong was right earlier. We don’t need to see new vaping gear. There is too much already. We need to get rid of some of it.

you aren't wrong ... I need to get rid some of mine, I don't ever use half of it.

I think there should be a natural cycle of accumulating vape gear then getting rid of it as we narrow down what we find to be best.

....but what we need is proper advancements in MTL tanks, not just more new ones for the sake of more new ones. I think part of the focus towards DTL tanks and RDA's was because there were a lot of improvements to be made in existing kit, Unless a new MTL tank is better than a Kayfun everyone will just go, "it's ok but it's not as good as my old kayfun" ... and any stock coil tank has to be better than a Nautilus or what's the point? ... and if they aren't then people won't buy them in any great numbers and the industry will go back to churning out DTL RDA's which for some reason DTL vapers just seem to keep buying and buying.

in a way I think MTL vapers are a more difficult group to market too outside of the 'starter products' ... I think we are more demanding and I think it's harder to design a really good MTL tank compared to a wide open RDA that has room for a pair of massive coils.... that's not a product that's difficult to make.

I think that the difficulty in making a tank/rebuildable for us MtL types is that everyone has a different interpretation of MtL.

I know you are a fan of the Siren and the Corolla. I find the Siren a bit too loose and I am yet to try the corolla (which I really should put a build in this weekend).

For the cloudy types it is simple. Massive deck for twisted, stapled tiger Clapton shark coils with airflow the size of the channel tunnel and you will sell tanks.

The stock coil option for MtL is worth exploring. Surely there has to be something to topple the nautilus from its perch.

I've got individual rta' s, rda' s and mods that top a ton in price and I would still grab the squeeze, strike or pulse , speed revolution in a fire.
