Hi tubby.

As I'm new my replies need verified and take a while to show. I posted that I got it sorted and it's working fine now. As to the oil thing, well I hear you about the pre judgements. However in my case, I just remember people referring to it as oil when they first came out. I guess it kinda stuck. Having done a bit more reading etc I'm quite happy now to blast the arse clean out of it and this has stopped the spitting. So cured for now lol.

I was trying to read about this before I joined here. But you know what googles like! Always better to speak to people in forums. Far more helpful and resourceful IMO [emoji3]

@Boomerang there did use to be people selling vaping 'oils' they werent oils... or shouldnt ever have been referred to as such... think that was because they were targeting a different market though (i.e. herbal vaporisers that you used herbal oils in were maybe the only knowledge people had of vaping in some parts of the world... mostly this was foreign ejuice... I know some chinese juices were incorrectly marketed as such way way back...) also people didnt know that oil was not a good thing to vape and some e juice manufacturers did actually use oil bases if you go back over 10 years perhaps.... hasnt been done in some time... some juices more recently have used oil based flavourings (incredibly minimal proportions and will cause no issue probably but no reputable manufacturer has used these in many years either) so no.. we dont use oil as a term..

I know when I first looked into diy and flavourings (didnt do any at the time and dropped out of vaping as this was in the cigalike only era...) that I was considering making my own flavourings... and having a lot of lovely aromatherapy oils had considered using those... coming back a few years later I asked re this and due to safety awareness having moved on substantially was advised against it... this is always why we dont just use food flavourings (many are fine but is difficult to know which) because a natural flavouring may well contain oil and doesnt tell you... it depends on what it is from and how extracted as well... as well as other nasties in vaping terms... but that isnt part of what has to be listed... good ejuice will not have any oil based or extracted flavouring either.... this may mean a lot of flavours cant be produced naturally.. or require specialist extraction and washing procedures (not the right term I know...) to remove or prevent any oil being present...

Sorry for the history lesson but has been a while since discussed and it may still be useful to diyers.. and for explaining why certain terms do not go over well within the community...

Lol thank you for that Nikki. Hey don't apologise I'm here to learn. As for terms not going down well in the community, well, so far I've had the fools pardon. Some people don't suffer fools gladly but mainly ones who forget they were fools themselves once.

Any ways, I'm already reading up on my own mixes and what I need but think I'll hold back a bit till I know what flavours I like best lol. I take back what I said elsewhere about stopping smoking everything. I think I'm gonna be easily drawn into this lark lol. It seems like good fun tbh

Oh it is good fun.. and a good community.. if you do get more into the hobbyist side od things just beware the damn shinyitus... empties the bank account as much if not more than smoking

Haha I can imagine. I'm always tinkering with electronics etc so I'm sure I will get to that someday. For now though, i just need to familiarise myself with the basics and shop produced equip etc and then I may start down the hobbies route. Lol I've started with a triton 2 tank which I though was jazzy enough but I do like a bit of bling lol

However if you have a history with electronics you could well get into making your own.. its partly due to people doing this that we have such a vibrant market/tech as we do... but always room for more... oh and if you do get into that.. I want a prototype ... lol
