I want to try my hand at rebuilding the coils for my EVODs and PT2 mini.....thought I would use cotton wool for the wicking as some have suggested , but what type of wire ( size , no of wraps etc) should I use to conjure a coil of around the 1.8 omhs?

thanks! :)

Hi, I use pre made wires from Rob at stealthvape, you get a choice of ohms 1.8 ohm would be good, packs of 50 are only a couple of golden nuggets:-)

Hey Noddy...
I use 28gauge Kanthal A-1 (0.013 inch-0.321mm) wrapped around a 1.4mm jewelers screwdriver, 10/9 wraps meters in at 1.7-1.8 in my EVOD/PT heads.
You do have a way of checking for hard shorts/ohms before you install in your clearo, right?

@SirCoughagus thanks :) , Yup I have an itaste vv vw so I can check the omhs.....assume if you have 10 wraps of that gauge then it must be pretty tightly wrapped to fit in the Evod?....... is that by definition a microcoil? , or is that something else entirely? I've watched the vids on youtube for that kind of set up but assumed it would be ok for the regular PT but a little too much for the mini? :)

@RedDaddy67 I think the overseas postage would be more than the cost of the coils I'm afraid , and I thought I'd like to give it a shot myself. The kanthal I can get cheaply here in Sweden :)

noddy I still use basic coils in the Evods and protank heads

I use 0.20mm Kanthal A1 wrapped 4/5 times round 3mm eco wool or silica, from this I always get approximately 1.8 ohm coil

ok thanks :) , so basically ... thinner wire , less wraps or thicker wire ,more wraps to end up around the same omhs...and assume then it's just a matter of personal preference ?
