Why am I getting a sore throat?

I used to smoke 40 full strength super kings a day as some of you know i quit just over a month ago and now most juice im trying seems to hurt on the inhale like somebody drop kicking me in the chest and slamming a hammer into the back of my throat.
I was on 18mg and dropped down to 12mg 100%vg from bestcigliquid but still its getting me in the throat.
cigs never did this and i dont wanna go back but i cant get a good vape on anything.
Im using a zmax and kanger protank 2

Maybe you need a new coil. How old is it? You probably know this but I'd try putting a new coil and wick in it.

What PG / VG are you using? PG can cause tingling in the throat.

Edit - Do you have any low PG juices that don't affect you this way?

Seedy ive tried a 2 brand new heads Blossom its 100%vg robteifi its at 7.5 to 8.5 watts

only ones that dont seem to hurt are nuclear plusion and vapology cappucino caramel

Maybe the protank isn't man enough for the job.

I dunno if it's the case for you, but as a new vaper I've found I really need to up my intake of water to avoid a dry mouth and sore throat. Basically, the vapour absorbs the moisture in your mouth and throat, and then of course you blow it out. So if none of the more technical fixes above work, perhaps try hydrating a bit more regularly?

Is this only just happening? Could you be coming down with a sore throat, chest infection, flu?

Try reducing the wattage down to the minimum to see if that helps. If it does then gradually increase it, I've found some juices depend a lot on the wattage, as well as the coil.
