What's new

If you often get sore throat or lungs - READ THIS

i don’t think nicotine builds up, as in accumulate in your lungs and stay there. i believe you breath it in, then breath it out, absorbing some of it in your bloodstream in the process. what might be happening is incremental irritation. but not “nicotine build up”.

I agree with that.

I run very low wattages for a cloud tank. Of my two rigs I have one on 36W and the other is 39W and they're not very warm at all.

It's definitely more like a chemical burn type irritation and nicotine is the only thing that really makes sense.

If I may though. First of all what do you think I should do regarding editing my original post or starting a new thread?

To add to this don't try and inhale Bran Flakes. I did that a few minutes ago when I sucked in a sharp intake of air whilst having a spoonful of Bran Flakes poised to enter the hatch and go down the bomb bay to fight the hunger pangs.

For one they don’t fit up your nose. I’m a big guy, with a nose to match and my nostrils are nowhere near big enough to fit a Bran Flake up there. So mid suction of breath all that happened was a Bran Flake blocked my nostril. I’d call this a disaster averted as if I had blocked both nostrils as opposed to just one I could be in real trouble, but I didn’t I only blocked one. And got my breakfast on my chin.

So I 100% degree with this post. Just because it’s delicious to eat, especially with peanut butter, desiccated coconut , raisins, maple syrup and oat milk, DOES NOT mean you can inhale it. Not at all.

you need to crush them up first :)

i think it’s worth leaving it as it is, the progression of the discussion is interesting, and there’s some good “banter” type stuff too.

i never use any cloudy or high power atties. i never go above 15w, and never get burny or sore lungs.

but i wonder if different people have different tolerances for things like the temperature of vapour. years ago i used to use a kayfun 5 at 20-25w, but when i would try and bump the power up even to 30, i found it uncomfortably hot and it did actually leave me with a burning feeling in the airways.

and this might also be affected by the frequency/amount a person is puffing. if a wee tiny bit hotter than a person’s zone, the irritation would increase with increased repetition.

i was puffing 70vg liquid at that time, which also disagrees with me a bit. caused a tight feeling in the chest. i get on much better with 50/50 or even 40/60.

Thank you. Mitz obviously agrees as well so I'm happy with that.

I'd be happier if my juice gave off no clouds at all. I see myself as a "flavour chaser". Clouds just encourages the anti vape whingers to start kicking off.

That’s what I was planning on doing with my teeth lol

I like the vapour production part too though tbh. Whilst I’ve dialled it down a bit in recent years I’m still in the upper end of the power scale for most normal folk and generally use big, wide open drippers that inevitably produce a lot of vapour.
I get as much satisfaction from the mouth full of vapour as I do the flavour. Probably don’t get as much flavour per ml of juice used compared to someone using something like a Billet Box, but as I’m using x times more juice per toot I get good flavour too because there’s more of it.
Pay off is I use more juice, but I’m ok with that. I’ve always tried to be considerate when I’m out and about though where I do it.

How old is the nicotine you're using?

If you've secured your own supply some time ago, it COULD be that it is starting to oxidise.

As my eyesight is poor and the print on the bottles I was using was tiny I accidentally used old, past its best, nicotine and had an experience similar to what you are describing - and I was mixing to 3mg. Just a possibility.

Edit - the nic looked clear and there was no visible sign it had gone off. I'm accustomed to juices darkening with age so I didn't suspect it could be an issue. You could try to mix 50ml and add a new 18mg nic shot if you are using an older supply of nic - that would give a definitive answer to if your nic is still viable or not

When did you get your bronchoscopy @MarylinC37 ? Just wondering how you found out your lungs were inflamed?

You're quite right. I haven't spoken to any doctor.

It just seems clear to me from the physical signs of what I can feel going on.

I may be wrong but I don't think I am.

I buy 500ml bottles of 72mg Nic and keep it in the freezer. It takes around 2 years to get through it but I buy it from a well recommended supplier and the quality seems top notch so I don't think it's likely to be that.
