Hey everyone,

Looking at purchasing the wraith 80w soon as a first to rda's and squonking. Now I get the concept of how it all works but coil and ohm related I am a bit of a noob due to always subohming. I like my tank set on around 40-50w so my question is, if I was to purchase a wraith 80 what prebuilt coil would be best to use? Any links would be great. I don't plan on building my own coils or anything yet anyway as I just want to see how I get on with squonking first.

The type of coil is very subjective to your tastes. Personally I like a Clapton coil, dual coiled coming out at about 0.35 ohm. But I also like to single coil, I also like twisted kanthal coils and the odd alien coil from time to time. You could try out a coil pack with different coils then have a play and see what suits you. Something like http://www.gearbest.com/accessories/pp_362633.html. Different brands are available and different vendors too.

So would all of those in that pack work as long as none of them achieved over 80w? If I was to purchase this, is there any type of converter to find out which wattage I should be using? I know I will have to purchase a ohm reader which is fine.

The wraith is a regulated mod so yes those coils will work. But will you get the best out of some. Probably not.
My favourite set up tends to be 0.25-0.5. Depending on where I'm using it. If I'm at home. 0.25 on a pair of Clapton coils at 60 w is lovely. Out and about. A pair of simple kanthal coils around 0.5 at 30w gives me a nice long battery life.
The ohm reader on board has proved accurate so if you are buying pre made coils there's no real need for a separate ohm reader.
As a regulated mod you can't muck up to much. If you build too low it won't fire.
But remember it's a one battery mod so if you want it to last all day use high ohm coils for flavour and run at low watts.

Thanks for that info buddy. If I was looking for 40-50w then on Clapton coils what premade coil would be best to get? I would be really really grateful if you could attach a link for me ;).

With it being a dual coil, am I right in thinking I would need 2x0.2 ohm Clapton coils to get it roughly 40-50w?

And remember to use tried & tested batteries. I'm using an aromamizer at the mo on the wraith with a pair of fused claptons coming out at .19 and best flavour at 75W which is pushing a single battery but it's a battery safely confirmed at 25A so no stress on anything other than short battery life.

Normally I'd go for around .4 and vape around 40 to 50W to get longer battery life.

I think I would leave the standard rda on there for the time being and see how I get on with it and potentially upgrade on another date. Would these coils be right to get 40-50w?

Battery wise, what would you recommend?

The mod is regulated so no need to work out what resistance coil you need for desired wattage. Just don't build a setup that will stress the single battery!....google steam engine to see what build would be ok to use.

2x0.2 ohm coils would be 0.1 ohm overall

M Vapes seem well thought of. You could go for simpler and smaller coils (physically smaller) to fit a pair more easily in the wraith's own rda

Pair of these installed will give you 0.4 or thereabouts, when heated & broken in may be 0.3?

As for batteries, go for genuine LG, Samsung or Sony and buy from Check & Vape, Fogstar, Torchy on eBay, Ecolux (online shop or eBay).
Specifically which ones? Depends on how you vape and what coils you end up using and what wattage.
TC I have no idea if you intend to do that.
For recommended safe ratings (Amps) and life (mAh) keep an eye on what Mooch says.
My recommendations would be LG HE4 or Samsung 25R, both rated at safe 20A and 2500mAh so good all rounders and safe in a single battery device up to 60W.
The 25A battery I use is the LG HD2C, rated at 25A and 2200mAh.
A lot of people have started using (based on Mooch's tests) the Sony VTC5A, rated at 25A and 2500mAh.
Please don't go for anything not tested by Mooch or ideally don't go for anything not well recommended by apes on here.
