Aye, I’ve been thinking about using a screwdriver to try to get some purchase on it. The quality of the kit is really really bad.

May have been cross threaded from the factory???

Use rubber gloves or rubber bands to help get some grip on the smooth surfaces.

Works every time.

If the base is too small to hold put a small screwdriver through the air flow hole to give you a leaver.

But be careful

It doesn't really work every time though, especially on small areas like the little bands either side of glass tanks.

Yeah, screwdrivers and pliers can work, but can also ruin stuff - and not from being too rough either.

Those little plastic wrenches are great, so glad I bought them.

Those wrenches are great. Also, I've had success with stuck tanks after putting them in the freezer for an hour or so, might be worth a try.
