‘You are not a horse’: FDA tells Americans stop taking dewormer for Covid

Maybe ivermectin has a vascular effect - It's a vascular disease. A large UK trial is the source of some, eh, friction.

One of the foremost researchers on the study of ivermectin is the scientist who used it for malaria treatment.

"In fact, Chaccour knows ivermectin better than most. He began work on the drug’s ability to kill malaria vectors in 2007, and when people began dying around the world from a new virus early in 2020, Chacco. His work both supports the possibility that ivermectin could be used against coronavirus and debunks dodgy studies on the drug. This has made him an enemy to both sides, and even led to his wife receiving threats. Chaccour said he’s been named "an assassin on the payroll from big pharma" and conversely "naive and advocate [for ivermectin]."

...death threats for and against? The southern drawl seems to come from both sides of the issue. Those who are sure its conservative fodder, and those who believe in a vaccine conspiracy.

But one of the most damning studies is done by Merck - they MAKE the drug:

"Merck, one company that produces Ivermectin, said in February 2021 that it had examined the findings of “all available and emerging studies of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19”, and the analysis has concluded that there was:

  • “No scientific basis for a potential therapeutic effect against COVID-19 from pre-clinical studies;
  • “No meaningful evidence for clinical activity or clinical efficacy in patients with COVID-19 disease, and;
  • “A concerning lack of safety data in the majority of studies.”"

Good grief, I just thought the response was amusing! :D

For balance, this is the FDA page on ivermectin. It does say there is some intial research looking into ivermectin and covid. I see no 'whole body of science being thrown out the window'?

As per the BBC link:

"The danger with such off-label use is that...the use of the drug becomes driven by specific interest group or proponents of non-conventional treatments and becomes politicised," he said, adding this trial should provide a "final answer" to whether or not Ivermectin should be used to treat coronavirus.
....... and the 'Southern drawl' went as deep as the 'y'all' in the original quote ........... and no deeper. :alien:
