What's new

4 way vape off.... Eclipse v's Kylin Mini II v's Blotto Mini v's Juggerknot MR

Another 3 catagories added to the list, might take me a little longer than the weekend to get this done :hmm:

@Squidgy I've got a Wasp RTA and a Gas Mods Cyber RTA here I can send you if you fancy adding those to the list. You could try loads of single coilers, for science...

Thanks for the offer mate:2thumbsup:, might be too much of a hand full to do loads of tanks in one sitting though, I also have a Destiny I could throw into the mix. The point of this exercise is to be able to compare them all side by side at the same time to give a true comparison.

Maybe if others would like me to compare more I would suggest doing a number of individual rounds. Could then take the winners of each round and do a final show down to find the best of the best maybe. I'd happily take it further with loaned contenders if its of interest, but keep in mind you'll loose any loaned tanks for a few weeks whilst we wait for other contenders to join the line up and I have a play and test. If you've loaned me a final qualifier I'd also need it back for the final. :hmm:

Lets see how this round goes first, suck it and see as they say.:hugs:

Giving yourself a big job there mate haha.

Whatever you decide the tanks are there if you need them.

Don't I know it, glutton for punishment me. Also had another thought of putting together a quick build and wick guide for each contender too. I must stop this before I have to quit the day job to cope with all this extra workload :18::18::18: Thanks for the offer though mate:2thumbsup:

A wick guide would actually be very useful for some folks. Some of the single coilers are very different so a good starting point with them is handy. Would save people having to go through youtube vids and listen to annoying youtubers.

Will like others on here be interested in your results, and some of the further ideas you have sound great if it happens. Thanks for doing this.

Ok the results are in, sorry for the wait, took a bit longer than I first thought, coupled with the day job being damn busy and a touch manic last week.:54:

Firstly, comparing the four RTA’s side-by-side threw up a bit of a curve ball that I wasn’t expecting and didn’t account for. To be honest it took me by surprise. Inadvertently not only was I comparing RTA’s but I was also comparing my mods. To start off with I’d paired up the tanks and mods as follows.

· Juggerknot MR – Innokin Z80 (F0 mode turned off)
· Kylin Mini II – Geekvape Aegis x
· Blotto Mini – Dovpo Odin Mini (DNA)
· Eclipse - Voopoo Drag 3

It was apparent from the outset that although the mods were all set at 30w in variable wattage mode the actual outputs to the coils were considerably different. So my plan had to alter somewhat and a significant amount of testing was done on my Drag 3, for the simple fact it was a dual battery mod and my Aegis was destined for something new (the overweight bunny I was waiting on had landed). Flavour and cloud comparisons were done on the Grus as I have two of them and could test two tanks at a time side-by-side. The Z80 was also used for the odd test here and there.

Anyway, moving onto the actual purpose of the testing. Which RTA out of this four is the best?

The RTA’s were all cleaned, fitted with the same Flapton 24/32 SS316L 5 wrap 3mm ID coils and wicked using Firebolt 3-3.5mm Cotton Laces, in my opinion the best wire and cotton around that suits my style of vaping.

Each RTA has its own style for wicking and I wicked them how I’ve personally found provided the best flavour, I am a flavour chaser after all.

I’ve included a sheet detailing the results broken down into each test. I’ve made some slight alterations with regards to the marking scheme, some categories where somewhat over weighted and gave significant advantage to a particular tank that is cheap as chips at the moment and cost isn’t the be all and end all in my book.

So the Kylin Mini II pipped this bunch, I’ve tried to be as unbiased as possible. Is the Kylin Mini II my favourite? Actually no it isn’t! I do like it and it has permanently held a place in my rotation as do all of these tanks, admittedly the Eclipse has only just entered into the mix, but since I got it, it’s been in there. My favourite is the Juggerknot MR, it’s a good all-rounder, tends to be my go to for my favourite juices and working so well at lower wattages it's great for sitting on a single cell mod. I think what I have taken away from this test is that as far as the flavour/vapour output goes there’s nothing separating them, they’re all as good as each other and perhaps I should share my best juices around a bit more.

I think I’ll still plan to do a “Squidgy’s Coil and Wicking Guidance” for each of these RTA’s at some point, it could prove useful, even if it’s just for me to refer back to if/when I lose my marbles.:hmm:
