RESTAURANT and pub bills will be slashed in half when you eat out as part of a new government scheme that aims to boost the struggling tourism industry and economy.

Brits who dine out Monday to Wednesday in August will only have to pay for 50 per cent of the tab, the Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced today.
The government's will cover the other half of the bill through the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, up to £10 per head, to boost the hospitality industry post-coronavirus lockdown.

The discount includes children's meals too although it won't cover any booze ordered to go with your food.

Not that it matters but my wife won't be able to benefit, she hasn't eaten out since 2001, due to her allergies.

So attempting to bribe us into putting ourselves in danger? How very Cummings.

Still not tempted to eat out anywhere.
Some of the pub cellars I've had to work in I certainly wouldn't put faith in the kitchens being any better. 50% discount isn't goimg to tempt me either.

dont think its sunk in to boris that 2 days after the pubs open a few had to shut bk down due to rona :hmm: maybe he just wants herd immunity :wanker:

50% off if you want to risk being round someone who may be contageous. They may as well sell fags for half price as well now. The more folks they can cleanse from the DWP undesireables list, the better, and if someone who works where to die there are plenty of folks out of work to plug the gaps, eventually the UK Gov and it's councils will get what they want. Apparently there is a mutated strain of Covid-19 that is way more efficient and has a better attachment spike.

Monday to Wednesday apparently, Marino's fish and chip takeaway and fish restaurant in Rye, I'll be up for some of that, bollocks to it.
