50% off in resturants

...Is everything ok with your meal? (half way through eating it). Yes thanks (if there was a problem i would let you know). can i do anything else for you?. " yes sod off and let me finish my food, i might order a dessert if you let me eat.

:rotflmao:You sound just like me @crustyfolker, "...and if you interupt this quiet meal I'm having with my wife again, there is no way I'm leaving a tip !"

All of these things and more could be prevented if folks gave it more thoyght.

And there lies the problem...a great many people don't think, or think only of themselves.

There is a problem with thinking in that other people who think about the same thing and come up with a different answer might assume it's because you didn't think. Dispiriting for those of us who tend to overthink everything until the black dog barks.

I'm just loving how the Tories have swung from austerity into anti-austerity ... suddenly there are billions to be plucked from the trees where money never, ever grows, presumably fertilized by politicians and advisors shitting themselves.

It's gonna take years to sort. My daughter is about to start looking for her first house. She's saved about twenty grand which is some going for a youngster but just as she's beginning the process all the banks are raising their deposit levels from 5-10% to 15% just in case the market dips. Greedy barstools.

When I bought my first house, I made the mistake of buying on a falling market. I'm not advising ... just saying ...

Ooh, you speak as if I have absolutely any say in the matter, lol.
I'm trying to do my best to m minimise risk and delay.
we shall see.

RESTAURANT and pub bills will be slashed in half when you eat out as part of a new government scheme that aims to boost the struggling tourism industry and economy.

Brits who dine out Monday to Wednesday in August will only have to pay for 50 per cent of the tab, the Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced today.
The government's will cover the other half of the bill through the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, up to £10 per head, to boost the hospitality industry post-coronavirus lockdown.

The discount includes children's meals too although it won't cover any booze ordered to go with your food.

Swell! Making Britain Obese Again!

Jokes aside, where does one sign up?

Sign up to what? Participating restuarants, takeaways etc will be offering the discount Monday to Wednesday from August 1st. Does not include alcohol on the bill.

It really doesn’t seem to matter what concessions they make does it ?

I would say this an attempt to get the economy going again.

and if you want to eat out it’s a good deal

remember you have a choice to use it or not

not for me personally I have to say - but wow - just think of what they are actually offering, I mean aside from your personal preferences on going out

The way this government behaves it's hard not to be cynical. They've put themselves in a position where no matter what they do, people are going to slate them and presume the worst.

And yet this seems to be a fair attempt at getting the economy going to me.

I may well be up for a cheap meal come August.
Will do a risk assessment nearer the time.
