7.2 volts

Mate, you are definitely straying into dangerous territory doing what you are doing. If you are melting gear attached to the mod, that is a very clear indication it is not a good idea. Essentially you have made yourself a pipe bomb to put in your mouth.

If the batteries vent and you haven't included adequate sized vent holes to direct the gasses away, the massive amount of energy store in each cell will escape via the weakest points - the top cap and the bottom cap - most likely the top...

If you're going to have a go at making your own devices, could I perhaps recommend trying an LM2596 step down board.

They're reasonably easy to wire up (they must be if a bimbo like me managed it) used in conjunction with an 'in series' battery box, you can still get higher voltages but with a bit more protection.

I present for your delight and delectation, the Tuppervape :

..and yes I know.. Trustfires (the only nipple tops I had at the time to test with).

Looks shite granted, but it works. ;)

looks good steffijade, im gonna google it now hmmm i can feel a nice wooden mod coming on ;)

Is vaping the only hobby where folks build things before knowing how to build them? :hmm:

The VV PCB can be bought on ebay via HK for the princely sum of £2,I have 2 already. The only problem I found was when lowering the resistance to 1 ohm,the VV chip got hotter than the coil.

Looks good to me. I'm going to have a go at building one soon. Ive ordered up some stuff but after reading up a bit, I'm unsure if the switches and wire is up to the task. Do you have to get these things with a high enough amp rating? What wire should I be getting?

Seriously, listen to the experienced modders, these high discharge batteries are potentially dangerous if not treated with respect.
