What's new

A vape box delivered to your door every month.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that this mind of business is a fail?

Too much to stock, too much unknown as beginner, too much to choose from different suppliers.

We buy and search for cheaper prices unless u got load of cash just to buy vape box every month regarding price and not looking round,

"I'll get a vape box hey ho... could get stuff cheaper from different suppliers even while paying postage as it's load of discounts goin on"
What u do then wait for ur vape box or cancel it?

Massive stock to keep.
Samples are u gonna have any?
Accessories u gonna stock them?
How much of juice choices u would have?
How much of DIY u gonna have?
How u gonna recommend first vape gear while not even speaking to ur customer and he's undecided?
How much of high end stuff are u gonna have?
Are u gonna keep in touch with juice makers ?
Etc... etc.... etc....

I'm out buddy as I can supply myself and a wife on a juice and equipment we will need as

I just don't see how this venture could possibly work.

I currently have 1 mod. 1 tank. 1 vape 1 flavour of juice. 100ml of juice lasts me approx 2 weeks, and I managed 1 bottle 1 coil last time round.

I've just ordered some kit so I can DIY and if I feel I need a new coil I can pick one up from my local shop if I'm ever in town. Or order a pack of them online.

I couldn't justify a subscription for a box of gear that I could source from elsewhere just as easily.

Good luck though, I wish you all the best.

Can i ask if you vape @Josh Williams?
And can i also ask where you got your idea from and what is it in the back of your mind that tells you there is a demand for such a venture?
Is it just an idea, epiphany type thing?

Yes, I do vape. I enjoy it. The idea came about when I ran out of coils and liquid in a short space. I was fairly busy at the time and couldn't get to a shop. The temptation to smoke a cigarette was there. I then wondered Is there any subscription service like this where I could get restocked. I asked vapers I knew, no one knew. I work in the tech industry as a product designer so my mindset is odd. I think a lot, so now I'm here haha.

It's interesting because people outside of this group think its really good. But they are a different user base. More casual vapers. maybe Prefer convenience over price sometimes. They don't dabble in the DIY side of things.

I'm also talking to a group of smokers who are looking to give up. Different type of user again.

Thanks for the feedback dude!

I think my problem with the idea is this - part of the vaping ‘journey’ is finding stuff out for yourself. And learning by doing so. What juice do you like, are you MTL or DTL, what mods are best for you, why move into rebuildables, how to coil and wick, how to make your own juice and why etc etc.

Your concept might be useful for the terminally lazy and unimaginative I suppose but not sure that is a scaleable number to build a business? Finally, vaping isn’t shaving. Shaving is a necessary chore (unless you are a hipster of course) vaping is fun and half the fun is the stuff that obsesses us on here as we hunt for juice deals, find new liquids, discuss mods that basically do the same job, argue the toss about minutiae and generally ‘waste’ our time on a hobby!

All very great points. I don't have all the answers, not yet. But comments like this will help me get them. Thanks!

I completely agree on the whole vaping journey side of things. I actually used to make my own liquid. Was fun! Couldn't steep it very well though.

The answer is your aiming at the wrong market, new vapours for the most part won't want to commit to a subscription service as most of them are worried about money or buying the wrong thing and been stuck with a bunch of unwanted stuff plus on the most part people as a whole don't like to commit to things long term and that's what your asking someone new to something to do, you would be better setting up a business for DIY mixers where you sent out concentrates and supplies with suprise recipe ideas and concentrate to make it as well as VG and PG supplies as mixers are into vaping long term [emoji6]
