Addiction...

When I go on holiday I don't take my vape & I have no withdrawal.

When I'm at home I enjoy vaping 6mg juice.

I could stop if I wanted to, but I enjoy vaping at home & enjoy the added effects that nicotine provides.

I don't believe that nicotine on its own in vape juice is any more of an addictive substance than caffeine, & my experience of vaping backs this up.

Well, I have major problems with out my vapes. Ask my wife as she has to deal with the brunt of it. And if I had to go without them for any lengthy period of time I'd be down the shop buying a pack of fags. My experience backs this up. :p

I agree,

I get similar withdrawal symptoms too, Headaches, fatigue, anxiety, irritability, depressed mood, difficulty concentrating....

both equally as addictive for me

Yeah, all the people dying of lung cancer and heart disease etc think it's fucking hilarious.
Thats commercial tobacco, which contains nicotine and a load of other chemicals that when burnt and inhaled, combine to give the users a psychoactive experience.

Its a common misconception.

And it's the nicotine in the cigarette that keeps people smoking despite the damage it causes. Because they are addicted. No misconception about it.

This is true, but its all about the delivery, the pharmacokinetics. If nicotine alone was so addictive as you say, then NRT would be more effective as a replacement for tobacco, and twelve year olds wouldnt be able to buy nicotine tablets off the shelf next to the aspirin.

And aside from injecting the most efficient delivery system is smoking aka inhaling in to the lungs. Just like vaping! Can a 12 year old buy e juice?

There's a reason people inject or smoke heroin and don't eat it.

There are other factors, like pH levels, CO levels and state of protonation. Also a MAO inhibitor.

Nicotine is the major neuroactive compound of tobacco, which by itself, has weak reinforcing properties. It is known that levels of the enzymes monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) and MAO-B are reduced in the platelets and brains of smokers and that substances, other than nicotine, present in tobacco smoke have MAO-inhibitory activities. Here, we report that inhibition of MAO dramatically and specifically increases the motivation to self-administer nicotine in rats. These effects were more prominent in rats selected for high responsiveness to novelty than in rats with low responsiveness to novelty. The results suggest that the inhibition of MAO activity by compounds present in tobacco smoke may combine with nicotine to produce the intense reinforcing properties of cigarette smoking that lead to addiction.

I believe it is the extra additives in tobacco that makes cigarettes MORE addictive.
As mentioned i niether have heard of a single case of anyone becoming addicted to nic gum or patches.
