Advice on first DIY mix

Just a wee bit try it nic free beforehand, the nic will not make that much difference to to flavour........ if anything you will get fed up with 500mls of it though

Yeah I get you. Anyway iv solved the mix ratio now. I actually brought 4 different 500m flavours and 1 250m so I hope to switch between them and add more flavours. Not sure about you my reason behind this is I waste so much money on supposedly premium juice and it turns out rubbish juice half the time. I got over 4 litres for what I'd usually get 800m from shop brought juice for the same price. This is going to tie me over while I learn the ins and outs of the art of mixing. Hopefully to end up with juice I'm happy with. I understand mixing is hard but losing money on rubbish in the shop is harder. I'm serious about learning and improving my vape experience.

You need something to make sure your adding the right amounts of ingredients like Scales or a Syringe, Mixing can sometimes be a complex thing and adding rough amounts usually ends up being rubbish, get some mixing tools like already mentioned then you know it's mixed correct according to instructions.

Yes I have everything I went and spent on bottles, syringes, measuring jugs. I had obviously muted my flavour by quite a lot by not adding nic. The 500ml bottles take 8 nic shots so was down 80ml on Pg the flavour carrier. Just a noob mistake. Juice is remixed and sat waiting for test number 2. Fingers crossed.

To be honest i have never mixed One Shots and never mixed any amount over 50ml, i have never seen the point of mixing 10ml bottles though i can understand why some do. I have also mixed 30ml on rare occasions. I still buy some shortfills from various vendors to use while i have my own steeping. I have heard people say you don't have to steep but i have to disagree.

Have you got any pg, if so substitute the nic with pg in a small amount to correct the ratio, not sure it will make much difference though really.
Edit.
Or decant 1/8th of your 500ml into a bottle and add one nic shot.

Hi @Robbyt80 and welcome to the planet.

i think youve gone the correct route in your first step to mixing but its trial and error to start with.
i went the hard route and bought 60ish single flavours and scales but most mixes i ended up with were pants so i gave up on them. then tried one shots same as boss shots and it was a much easier process but the trial and error is mixing then finding you dont like the final flavour much so youve wasted money and juice. what i do now is if i find a one shot that i think would suite me i first source if they also sell shortfills of said juice to get a taste. id rather waste 50ml than 250ml.
steep times do vary quite a lot.
fruits also called shake and vape are usually good to go after a couple of days after you shake the bottle to an inch of its life. i still think fruits need a couple of weeks steep. custards and creams on the other hand can take 2-4 weeks and anything upto 3 months to get the true flavour through.

Thanks. I thought the shake and vape was a bit to soon. You can still the bubbles in the mix so it is obviously still coming together. I tried a shortcut and failed. If they taste anything like they smell I'm in for some good juice. Sat steeping in the cupboard now. Iv opened the cupboard so many times in the last 2 days I might as well sit in there with it and steep myself. Anyway got some t juice red Astaire to try and give myself some much needed patience. Also I checked they do shortfalls . The reviews are raving about these flavours both on the site and on here. Fingers crossed

I would still leave a shake and vape 7 days!. but custards anything upto 6 weeks :)

Another thing I’ve found is the nic seems to start or promote the steeping process, if you’re waiting for it to steep without the nic you may be waiting a long time, also I would never mix 4lts of juice in one go.

Good tip thanks. I have mixed 500m bottles. I don't want to add all the nic. Maybe I could transfer some to 100ml bottles and add the nic.
Can I ask will it better for steeping in smaller bottles ?
