Advice on RTA and Smok RBA

Shame yours haven't lasted, my first pixelated one's still working after three years, I just use it for work now. With Arctic Fox I can just plug into it and control it that way if I need to so it serves a purpose even now. Anyways, back on-topic, sorry for the derail :S

RTA v RBA... hmmm, I tried some RBA's in the past but I'll be honest, they're a bit of a faff with the tiny build decks. I'd accept the stock coil atty for what it is and look to augmenting them with a rebuildable or two to get into the swing of building up your own decks. Cheaper in the long-run and you're not hostage to supply issues.

Thanks for the info @ChrisS - although that's an interesting point regarding coil longevity. In general terms, would it really be worse than say 7-10 day life of my current Smok coils? I do have a bit of a sweet tooth, and tend to use 70/30 VG/PG juice. Does that make a difference?
Others may have a different experience but I find RTA coils last half as long as stock coils before the flavour starts to go. With practise rebuilding a coil takes 5 mins. The difference in flavour is immense and I find I only use stock coil tanks when I'm away from home.

No worries mate lol like I said earlier, I might just try posting in a different sub-section for some more specific feedback.

I've been watching some YT videos on RTAs lately and feel like i'm fighting a losing battle against the dreaded Shinyitus!

Yeh that's a fair point, it's hard to tell on vids how large/small the RBA deck will be in reality. Plus reviews in general tend to be pretty scarce as people will usually go straight to an RTA/RDA setup and bypass the RBA altogether.

Lets be brutally frank, reviews are only good for seeing what the thing looks like as opinions are coloured by their keenness to receive more items... truth tends to get in the way of the tenuous relationship between reviewers and companies.

True, but if the Vaping Bogan, Vic, Phil B etc all say it's good then it could be worth a punt.

Damn.. very hard to argue with that logic. It's something i'll admit didn't cross my mind when reading/watching the various independent reviews, but you're right in the sense they're unlikely to give a product "a bad rating" as it might prevent potential future freebies!

But then without the research element, is it just a case of trial and error? I imagine that could get very expensive very quickly..

So as long as it's a well respected reviewer, it's worth looking into? Which would beg the question, for someone unfamiliar with the number of reviewers out there, whose opinion would qualify as being worthy?

I've heard of Vaping Bogan, but only through watching reviews of the Dovpo Blotto which apparently he had a hand in [and has been added to the shortlist of potential RTAs!]

The biggest factor is, we're not all the same, we all like different things, which is entirely reasonable. Hopefully the classified section will re-open soon, which is a great way of swapping out stuff with other folks on here to try stuff out.
