So far I've gone up to 15w and I'm still not getting any throat hit, it's just making me dizzy.

Think your throat is well and truly goosed.
No throat hit but getting "nic sick" ?

PG and freebase are what give throat hit in a liquid. For pop in coils not sure as there vertical coil by design, maybe a MTL RTA that's known for strong throat hit will give you what your after, get a clone if it's an expensive RTA.
