What's new

After all this time, I just want something that works, any recommendations?

How old is the HE4? At one point I either bought HE4's or Samsung 25R's depending on what was cheapest at the time.

I don't doubt the intensity of the vape dropped off for you, but if it is happening quite noticeably it is probably time to replace the cell. Then again I don't know the cutoff voltage of the Marvos S, if it is 3.0 V then that will happen as you need 3.16V to keep at 20W. The majority of my older mods cut off around 3.1-3.2V, 20W is not demanding much from the battery but I guess even then sag does come in to play and explains you experiencing what I am with the Drag X.

I used to keep my older batteries for lower power vaping though, and you may well be doing this with the old HE4. If that is the case and you have newer cells rock on :)
My HE4's must be about 5 or more years old now. I have a mixture of LG, Sony and Samsung that I bought as I used to keep the batteries specific to each mod.
As the mods increased it became unmanageable so I now rotate about 50 or so batteries through the charger to get equal use from them. I do the same with my paired batteries. They are surely getting to their end of life lol. The older ones still work and as you say are ok for low watt use. I do have a few Molicels in the mix but they are newer. I very rarely vape above 35w unless I'm tinkering with mech mods.

Did you get shinyitis too? I went a bit mad with the mods, here is most of them

The RTA's and tanks are in a drawer but I have more than mods. How big did you go with the mods?

I had around 25 batteries so only half of what you had, but where they was getting so old I thought its time for new now. I only have two married sets now for dual 18650's, one triple set for the triple battery mods, and 3 for single 18650 mods and mechs.

I found once I got the Molicels they was far better than the 25R's, 30Q's, HE4's and HG2's so I went for just buying them. I do feel I would like to run a few mods at once again so I might order myself some 25R's as they are only £4.49 at fogstar and they are still really good batteries.

Love it lol,
I feel so much better now. I was beginning to think I was a bit weird having so many. Back in the first couple of years I went a bit mad buying lots of different stuff, mainly to keep me off the ciggies. Then it quickly became a passion and the collection grew and grew lol.
I used the money I was spending of ciggies to get mechs and mods etc and was really pleased as this time I had lots to show for my money rather than burning it away.
I've not counted them recently but I have in the order of:
40 x Mechs
150 x Mods
80 x pods
30 x drippers
20 x RTA's
180 x Tanks
100 x batteries of different sizes
6 x Chargers
I also have lots and lots of spare coils for each tank, o-rings drip tips, battery wraps, cotton, spools of wire, etc.

I dont think I've reached Shinyitis yet but will be careful incase it turns into an addiction lol.

It is a big hobby of mine now and thankfully its kept me off the ciggies. Been smoke free for over 8 yrs now. I also run a vaping webite with my two sons which we've been doing for most of the time ive been vaping so my passion of vaping is here to stay.

Wow, my collection is closer in size to your mech alone collection! I think we are close on RDA's and RTA's, I haven't counted those but I have a lot more than I do mods.
If I had kept my older batteries I would be closer to your amount, I thought where I had rewrapped them and they probably were not holding anywhere near their capacity and internal resistance has risen time to get rid.

I need to order more wire and cotton, I was sure I had plenty of 26G SS316L but all I can find is titanium? So will have to get a spool and get some good old Muji cotton.

It was a big hobby of mine as well, I classed myself with shinyitis so I think I may be speaking with a fellow sufferer lol

I'm not suffering at all lol, far from it The only downside to my very healthy and ever growing collection is keeping the missus well away from them. It's normally at least once a week I hear her dullsit tones " How many more do you need". Fortunately I just point to her fingers and feet and mention the rings and shoes! That manages to give me a stay of execution.

I will admit to having a little problem..... I even have a naughty corner lol. If anything breaks or stops working I keep it just in case. I have thrown two away, one caught fire and the other one fell in my pond.

I dont normally vape in TC mode, never really got on with it. My recent addition is the Voopoo Drag 4 with the UForce-L tank. That has TC mode so got and old dripper out and built Ni200 coils for it to give it a whirl. Think I need to read up on temperature control lol.

I've not bought wire and stuff for ages, last time was from Wick & Wire but think they went out of business a while ago now.

Interesting you mention batteries. I've been using my old LG HE4s for ages. Seem to last well but have had about 5 suddenly die in the charger over the last few months. I vape till cutoff, put in charger and they charge but when I go to use it nothing happens. Check the battery and it's dead and wont charge anymore. I'm guessing just end of life as they are old.

Nice to chat with a fellow sufferer lol.

Oh no, I didn't imagine you was suffering, at the height of my collecting I was thoroughly enjoying it. I used to enjoy trying different clones against the original tanks- most of the time I ended up with something that worked exactly the same as the full price RTA. Ahh, I miss the days of fast tech, waiting weeks for something new to arrive.

I managed to set fire to one set of batteries, I was using a series mech mod called a Noisy cricket. I switched to a mod which looks almost identical, the abaddon, but it is a parallel mech. I put the batteries in series by accident, as soon as I did I felt the mod getting hot, and luckily had my window open and threw it out.
A couple of hours after I went outside, and one battery had flew out of the mod nowhere to be seen, the other battery left in the mod had melted most of its wrapper. I don't recommend dead shorting batteries lol

I used to get mods from gearbest, authentic mods, and saved a tonne of money at the time. The cost was waiting.

I think my last wire purchase was crazywire, thats at least if the spool I have was one of my last purchases. TC, I went through a stage of using it a lot as I had a good few DNA mods, I would get the custom CSV files to put onto the mod and enjoy it. I must say, I found SS316L to be my favourite, as I could build with it like I would a standard coil. I found with Titanium and Ni200 I often got best results with spaced coils, if thats something you would be willing to try for a better TC vape?

It sounds like the batteries have served you well. I imagine their internal resistance has risen a lot, meaning their actual CDR is now a lot lower than it once was, and the ones dying have really taken a beating.

I did laugh out loud when you said you just point at your wife's hands and feet and this gets you a pass for all your gear :)

Your message jogged my memory, i think it was Crazywire that I bought most of my wire from. I've got spools of the stuff so wont have to buy anymore ever again. Saying that, I might have to invest in some mesh wire if I delve down the mesh RDA/RTA route.

Years ago I owned a Smok mod, cant think what it was called, was 60 or 80W, it was an external battery one where you had to undo the battery cover with 4 tiny screws. It was a workhorse and took a lot of knocks. I used to charge the battery in situ cause it was so bloody fiddly to take out. I was on a day out and the mod out of the blue started to get hot and smoke. I had no choice but to toss it and just watch it slowly disintegrate lol.

I too used to trawl though Fasttech for bargains and oh yes there were a lot of them. Shame those days are over. I hot most of my clone mech mods from them.
