Hi guys,
I've been using a Mech mod for nearly a week now, I'm pretty sure I'm vaping safely, but could someone confirm for me?
I have a multimeter and a ohm meter (which i screw my RDA into)
Im using purple efest 18650 35A batteries, and IMR 40A batteries.
Ive currently got a dual 0.22ohm build in a plume veil and a dual 0.44ohm build in a big dripper.
Ive used an ohms law calculator, if im using the 0.22 build at 4.2volts its 19.09 amps and 9.55amps with the 0.44 build.
Would someone confirm that I'm vaping safely within the battery limits.

Thanks

I'm getting really worried that so many people are asking if such and.such is safe recently.
Mechanicals are a wild beast, one Fuck up, and that's all it takes.
So, so your research, don't sub ohm until you know it's safe. Simple.

True :)

If you have to ask then you are not safe!!!

Do your home work first before doing anything. Bad things happen when you do it the other way.

Too many variables for somebody here to take responsibility and say "you are safe".

How old are the batteries.
How are you charging them.
What are the real amp limits on those batteries.

List goes on and on.

This... so this.

If you have to ask about the limits of your batteries you haven't done your homework and shouldn't be doing it.

The Efests are 20 A continuous so you are right on the knuckle of what they can do with the 0.23 build with zero headroom. That said, as long as you are careful and monitor your battery temperature and above all else BE CAREFUL then you should be OK.

The IMR's I know nothing about.

Yep totally what these guys have said, many many variables to consider.

You also want to know what you are actually getting at the atty too, for me anything over 1v drop is more stress than I personally would want on normal batteries but that is only my personal opinion.

Also beware of the 35A efest's as they are not quite what they seem from everything I have read, I have one and it works ok but I wouldn't go silly with it.

Do your homework if you want to go to extremes, and possibly invest in a box mod that will handle big loads and you won't need to go so low on your resistance anyway as your volt drip should be lower.

If anything is getting hot-STOP

Sent from somewhere inside a huge cloud!

The simple answer is no. Vaping at the borders of the abilities of your batteries in terms of continuous amp draw isn't safe it is a calculated risk. If you have calculated that risk, understood its implications, considered the possible outcomes and how best to firstly avoid and secondly handle them that is one thing. If you haven't........

Ok thanks guys,
Would someone be able to point me in the right direction for finding out more about what I need to know?
The bits I have found online are a bit confusing/conflicting and often vague.
I wasnt aware of the difference between the rated amp rating (if thats the term, for whats written on the battery?) and continuous rating, I had assumed the printed rating was what its safe to use at! How wrong I was!
The batteries where bought new less than a week ago, I charge them in a Efan WS1 digital charger, I check on them every 15-20mins and see what they are at, then measure them with a multimeter.
Once they are at 4.2volts I take them out and store them in a plastic battery box, I check them before installing as well.
I was (I wont be until I know more about what I'm doing) taking a couple of hits and pulling the battery out, they havent felt hot to the touch.

Any advise, links etc would be greatly appreciated.

Even tho Ive been shot down for asking a simple question, I'm glad that I have, and now I know.
Everything I had read said to be safe and check voltage, resistance etc and I thought that is what I'd been doing. But any help or somewhere to point me in the right direction would be handy.

Cheers!

Its not a case of shooting you down, we just don't want to see you have any incidents as at serious sub ohm levels you are very close to a dead short so you have to be confident that your batteries are OK.

If in doubt, dont!

Never trust what it says on a battery, Efest 18650 35A is a LG ICR18650HE2. 0.21ohms is the limit for the Efest 35A and would want to stay around 18amps.

Search the forums for similar builds see what others have done, ask questions most people here happy to share info.
