An alternative view on disposables and harm reduction

Putting the environmental issues and any discussion on disposables vs reusable devices aside for a moment to touch on advertising...

It's not bright colours or cartoony advertising that makes these thing appealing to kids (it's not toddlers buying them), it's all the oxygen thief's on TikTok etc that are influencing them. Young people are always going to do stupid shit, but now they have multiple platforms to share and copy what others are doing.

I do agree as I said the advertising seems more focused on nostalgia for adults. The government clearly don't as they took this approach on cigarettes blaming the colourful packaging and low cost of 10 packs. It would give less ammo to antivapers though as they will grasp at any straw possible.

I think there may be a cultural problem here. Using what wee would call, kiddy packaging, to appeal to adults is normal in many East Asian markets. It’s probably most noticeable in Japan.

there’s one of they american sweetie shops outside the subway on buchanan street, with an elf bar display in the window and a “vape shop” neon light.

One in Princes St Edinburgh was closing down a few weeks back when I was there.... selling mad sugar rush Yankie shit...... how the fk they afford the rent in these high street locations leads me to believe it's pure money laundering

that’s what i was saying to my wife, funny enough. we passed three of them in the space of ten minutes. all with fancy shop fitting full of boxes of ghastly american cereal and popcorn for a tenner a pop etc. and totally empty of customers. they are def suspicious.
