An alternative view on disposables and harm reduction

Disposables are clearly a cash cow for everybody involved from their manufacture right down to the retailer so they are not going away any time soon, but if legislation was passed to remove the nicotine then you would also remove the addiction aspect from every argument.
In my opinion it is the addiction aspect that will be the stick that the anti vaping brigade will use to beat vaping and vapers.

It`ll take a very brave man to stick his neck out and differentiate between the chronic lung damage caused by years of smoking versus any damage that may have been caused by vaping

What damage caused by vaping? Also, how does your comment relate to the topic?

Over here in Guernsey we have a deputy who is starting to get cranky about disposables, especially about the number of kids now on them and that they're all pretty colours and sweet flavours. He used to walk my dogs years ago so I have dmd him about the issues, and have asked him to please remember the difference between disposables and non-disposables when he puts it to the States. He said he'll keep me in the loop... But it scary times when those with little to no experience at the top are making decisions for all of us without really looking at the issues.
I've suggested recycling options but we don't have many over here. It took us a long time after the UK to do the Nespresso recycling so I fear there is little hope when it comes to disposable vapes. So the best option I can think to try to steer him towards is to stop convenience stores from having them on display - just like cigarettes, to have the schools more involved, and to make sales of them illegal to under 18s which I don't believe we have in law here.

Are there any other suggestions that could help?

to be fair i think the health authorities in the uk already have. that comment in the letter is just a note of caution for the effect of “laying it on thick”.

That comment should not be in the letter unless the authors provide peer reviewed sources.
Evidence provided without proof is just opinion.

The harms of vaping are, as yet, not fully established but there is concern regarding increased risk of chronic lung conditions.

Total bollocks, the letters authors and signatories have referenced junk science, looks who's name crops up :11:

Conclusions
Use of e-cigarettes is an independent risk factor for respiratory disease in addition to combustible tobacco smoking. Dual use, the most common use pattern, is riskier than using either product alone.

How can they conclude that, smoke rather than smoke and vape (dual use), wankers.
