thanks bud the coil is pretty black but the coil wire is black brand new aswell and i tried it on brand new coils, i did dry burn yesterday and blew on the coil to remove any dirt etc but didnt make any difference iv been trying this for weeks on end the only thing that worked was new liquid but that seemed temporary as its doing it again now lol. seal looks ok to bud its the same on my vivi nova that is doing the exact same thing... iv tried new batteries and put it on the standard evod battery aswell but no luck

when you dry burn, typically you need to pulse the coil and blow it quite a few times until the coil looks all shiny and the wicks are white again (or almost white) If the coil is really badly gunked up it can take several minutes to get it nice and clean again.

my coils are always black bud even brand new...maybe its just the wire they use, iv seen some of the res no res wires are black with silver legs...mine look the same

I used to suffer the same bad taste with pre made evod heads. Both kanger and ft I rarely had one which worked well for long or even at all straight from the packet.
This is when I started re coiling my old heads and wow what a difference it made, the pre made res/no res wires from Rob at Stealthvape are excellent, a choice of ohm rating and just a few nuggets for a pack of 50:-) with a cotton wick it's soo much better than the ready made heads.;-)

It's quite a pain in the ass but I must get into regular burning on my tanks haven't been doing it enough and Yuk the taste has been well bad with some tanks. Anybody know how to dry burn an iclear 30B? Have looked for vids on it but found nothing, maybe not possible.....

i tried cotton wick but it just burnt in half within seconds, as a flavour wick it works well but never had any luck with cotton through the coil

try taking a few pulls on it without pressing fire then use as normal this can help 'prime' the wick with juice, let me know how you get on, this methid used to work for me.

tried that to bud didnt make any difference...its not just a burnt hint its like mega full on burning plastic. now i got new liquid in its not mega bad at 5.5watts it doesnt taste like it should but its not to burnt...any higher and it tastes 10x worse. im going to add a new flavour in a min...whats the best way to do it....shall i rinse coil (and the coil wire) and dry burn, new flavour wick... or just rinse the coil out (without taking the pin out that exposes the coil wire) and new flavour wick...no need to dry burn then?

little update, i just added new flavour one i mixed myself...i didnt bother to rinse as its the same flavour just added 3 drops of a extra flavour to it...im to 7watts now and tasting good so far so no burning. i think it may be down to the liquid as the 6 samples i tried worked great, the 2 i have issues with burning is cherry and tobacco.....both hangsen. the rest are not hangsen....so it seems to me hangsen liquids just dont work in my evod and vivi nova on 2.5ohm at least...havent tried them on lower ohm coils yet. but i used same coil, same wick, same atty.....earlier it was cherry....hangsen.....burning like mad...added some redbull of my own mix....took the edge off and was useable, now i got my own mix in its 10x better. so im putting it down to hangsen liquid. its very gloopy even though its 80pg/20vg. the samples i tried some were the same ratio...no problem with them just hangsen.
