Another Tobacco Giant To Move into the e-cig market?

It won't come to that, they really do have far more important things to deal with (the Government), so let them deal with them, they usually do a U turn on everything they implement anyway! lol x - If they did manage to re-classify though, I'd have a couple of freezers in the shed and even perhaps 3 or 4 in the spare room hee hee xx Linda

Big Tobacco gets in on it because they have no choice. They are loosing a market share, and will continue to do so at an increasing rate if no ban or 4mg limit occurs. And if a ban or limit happens, BT will already have a finger in the market. BT companies already have bought in before Altria, and more will do so. ps3fan i agree with you, and am doing just that.

Having seen some of the debate on e-cigs it was surprising how many of the 'experts' calling for regulations and control attributed the symptoms in the chart to the use of e-cigs rather than withdrawal from nicotine, it has been shown that e-cigs delivering nicotine as a vapour changes the way it is absorbed and the difference between the levels in the liquid and what gets absorbed into the blood is much greater than first thought.

There has been some independent research taking place by Dr Konstantinos Farsalinos for the past 2 years and many of the reports have recently been or are about to be published.
I took the survey a few months ago and may be still running so this site is well worth your time.

I think it is important we take the time to learn as much as possible and be aware of what the latest research reveals, the MP's and MEP's will get smarter and better informed so we need to be sure we can support our belief's or claims
using the correct terminology quoting respected published data over what we just know through experience, beat the b'stards at their own game I say....

Progress .... :strawberry:

Being cynical, I can see the tobacco companies pushing for pharmaceutical regulation, in order to take the little fish out, narrow the market and charge what the hell they like. :(

Bad move IMHO.

Amen to that. As a sceptic myself I think that the previously irresponsible selling and behavior of tobacco companies should be seen before they are even allowed to move into ecigs. As far as I see these are the last people on earth to be allowed to produce ecigs they still don't even admit responsibility for the damage their stinkies do to peoples health. Lets face it their only motivation is profit and this will be bad news for ecigs and vaper vendors alike, they will just buy as much of the market as they can and make it a monopoly for themselves. They are only getting into ecigs because they realise vaping is a revolution they cannot defeat, lets face it they are still trying. I would put more opinion I have of them but that kind of language is not allowed here.

I say let them spend as much as possible producing cigga-likes which most vapours move away from quicktime, let them set up production, research, bottling and shipping on a grand scale for their juices and devices and plough multi millions into grand advertising campaigns.

About then all us ex smokers should have our revenge and boycott any product even remotely connected to a tobacco company no matter how good or cheap that product may be.

We have been over charged, lied to and encouraged to slowly kill ourselves for many a year, could this be the first real opportunity for a lump of payback ?

I would think the existing vaping community could sway newbies choices as recommendation tends to win over a glossy poster especially when pointing out which high profile products are owned by the tobacco companies and touching on the fact they probably gave them enough money already..

Whole heartedly agree with all the above. The only way to stop them is to overthrow the governments of the western world and do things properly!
The sensible thing would be imho would be to ban tobacco cigarettes and issue all smokers with e-cigs and free e-liquid. If you freeze the bank accounts of all tobacco companies you would have more than enough cash and some left over for a vapers convention in the Maldives (or Cornwall for Scottish vapers ):grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: (I have grey skin n burn due to celtic ancestors).
We would all like to keep the tobacco companies out of vaping, but in our world they have the political and financial muscle to barge their way in. Will they understand just how bad the cig-a-likes are and produce proper e-liquid? My guess would be that they will just flood the market with cig-a-likes, leaving a gap for us smaller companies who are also passionate vapers to provide non cig-a-likes and the excellent e-liquids vapers really want.

Of course, if the Pharma and Big tobacco companies get together to outlaw anything other than cig-a-likes that would be very bad, but it could happen.

Absolutely love this - forgot that Clegg smokes in secret lol x thanks very, very much x Linda
