Hi all, I'm looking for a bit of info. Fairly new to vaping and as luck would have it, dropped my TECC arc mini and the tank smashed! Going to order a replacement, but in the mean time, a friend has given me a Vopoo Argus GT with one coil in it, and one spare - he's went bag to smoking cigs. He's also given me a bunch of other stuff he won't use, mainly just coils (mainly SMOK & Aspire, and one small box of Nunchaku - can provide more details if necessary re ohmage etc). I'm wondering if any of those coils will be interchangeable/compatible with the Argus GT? And if not, where might be the best place to get replacement coils for the GT? I have a VPZ local to me, but not sure if I'd be cheaper ordering from an online vendor.... Any help welcome!

Thanks MrDJ :)

I should maybe also ask about best wattage settings (and how to set them - my mate had lost the instruction manual :25:). I'm using 50/50 6mg liquid from 88vape, a Home Bargains special!

is it the Argus GT you need advise on?

as that is a different kettle of fish (or chalk and cheese) going from a 20w arc to a 160 voopoo.
hunting user instructions.....

user guide here https://www.voopoo.com/software.html#service
click on argus series on left and download pdf.

as you got this mod from a friend the first thing i would do is safety first, check the batterys to see if there are any chips or tear's around the battery wraps. these things are high powered and can short and go bang if not cared for.

a quick google shows these coils below.
the quoted ranges are just that and not many stick to them and always vape lower than the max wattage on the coil.
if you vape at saay 50watts which is my normal range i always start low.
prime the coil by dripping juice on all the cotton around the coils and a good few drops down the end. fill up tank and then start low. i usually start at 20-25watts. you wont get much if any cloud but the coil is still warming up and bedding in. turn up a couple of watts every few puffs and keep going until you reach your sweet spot. this will help prolong the coil use. the nearer you get to the max coil wattage the quicker it will most prob burn out.

Thanks MrDj, the link with the pdf is helpful :)

From a quick search, Google shows these results:

The box for the Argus GT itself, which I still have, shows its content to include 1x PnP-VM5 (0.2Ω) coil, and 1x PnP-VM6 (0.15Ω) coil. Not sure which one is already in the device, but the spare is still in the foil packet. Such a small difference in ohmage shouldn't mean I'd have to adjust wattage by much... should it? I'm still learning, wish it was as simple as just lighting up a cig at times!

Nope. Looking at the coil pic one is 40-60 and other 60-80. I'm using similar ohm and wattage vaporesso gtx coils and I'm using 30w which gives enough flavour and cloud but I'm guessing you could use both yours around 50w but they may get a bit hot.

Having looked at the pdf manual, I've opted for 'Smart' mode - which says: the pnp coil is used, which can identify the best power and prevent the coil from burning due to high power.

This 'Smart' mode sits at 50w, so I think I'll stick with that... foolproof, surely!

Smart is handy but I don't use it now as prefer lower wattage. But if it suits your style then stick with it.

That's handy to know, thanks Lisa :)

Without having to trawl through the recommended suppliers list, would anyone be able to advise on where to buy the PnP-VM5 and PnP-VM6 (0.2 & 0.15ohm respectively, I think?

Another little query - as mentioned earlier in the thread, I've opted for using smart mode in the 40-50W range. I accidentally stumbled into the temeprature control settings mode (which I didn't even previously realise was there), and am finding it all a bit confusing! Have googled 'Argus GT tc settings' but I'm no further forward, and the user manual itself says nothing about how to use them - should I assume that Smart Mode itself will take care of a 'default' setting as far as temperature control is concerned? Even actually getting the thing out of Temperature Control settings is tricky! :hmm:
