Argus GT - coil compatibility?

Jeez. As with anything, quality might differ slightly from item to item, but 2 weeks of use up against 3 days of use?! Surely must be a defective coil, I'd be looking to engage with the vendor to see if they'd be willing to offer a replacement...?
its life. it can happen to any make of coil in any box. usually maybe 1 coil duff but ive had one box were 4 were duff and the other lasted 3 days. and coils are used parts so cant and wont be replaced by suppliers otherwise everyone would be claiming their coil only laste 2 day when it actually lasted 2 week.

I've found that a lot with PNP coils. The first lasted only a couple of days but the second lasted a couple of weeks. Bare in mind by the time i had the second I was using another device too so not using the Argus as much

Just one other wee silly question regarding the Argus GT... When charging, the two batteries were always within one or two percent of each other. Couple of days ago, I recently removed them to do a sort of 'hard restart' as I couldn't get the thing out of chip ID mode (doh, I know!). Now, since re-inserting the batteries, they're charging 7 or 8 percent apart: one at 71 and the other at 64. Actually just looked again, one is at 66 and the other at 72 now. No big deal, right? It's just that bloody OCD of mine kicking in again :18:

Is that in the Argus or in a battery charger?

The batteries are in the Argus, charging by USB.
I've learned here that it's ok to charge in emergencies that way if low at work but it damages batteries and a separate charger will charge them thoroughly and they'll last longer

Something I forgot to ask about, by the way: in what way are coils 'used parts'? So when we think we're buying 'new' coils... they're actually used parts?! Confused!

So is it recommended to get a battery charger and extract the batteries from the device, and recharge them in the battery charger? Worrying to hear that charging the batteries whilst in the device might damage them :5: You'd think the manufacturers might include such advice in the user manuals...?

Looking at a brand new coil won't tell you if it is a dud or not. You have to use it first then find out it only lasted a day. Then it's a used part and only place for it is the rubbish bin.

Erm, yes! :18:

Yep, that worked. Fire button first for a half second, and then click Minus: job done. It's just to try and get an average idea of the amount of puffs between coil changes - I'd gotten around 1400 from the 0.17ohm until it started to taste a bit off. Does that sound a lot?

Re what you've said about firmware updates, I think you're right. I've seen phones and laptops bricked from a firmware or BIOS update - if it can happen to them, I'd imagine it can happen to an e-cig board. If it ain't broke...
Nope. not any more it doesn't! Talk about OCD in overdrive :5: The bloody thing is driving me nuts!
