Aspire Kumo for first RDTA DTL tank

Those look good. I found a 10ft spool on sale on amazon, Aiture brand, pirate (TM) coil. I might try them in the future thanks.
The reggiec ones are handmade, much better than spools you can buy that are machine made.
A machine wouldn't be able to use the higher guages without creating a mess.

Yes Fella, the Kanthal you already have will do the job. I'd suggest an inner diameter of either 2.5 or 3 with the Top of the Coil just below the top of the Posts :) And yes to the Clapton wire you suggest.
I've a few more questions for you if that's alright buddy? The single core kanthal wire coils that I plan to make @ 2.5 or 3mm inner diameter should that be 5 or 6 wraps? And for the clapton wire 5 wraps?

Hi Ya @Jay1986 :)
6 Wraps will work fine with Kanthal. Clapton Wire I tend to go with 5 Wraps.

Great you've really cleared that up for me. I'm gonna mix up some 70/30 lemon lime & maybe bastard sauce in anticipation for my kumo delivery

I was looking at 15ft of "geek vape twisted clapton wire 28ga*2+32ga". Should I go with this or is there better options do you think?

Personally I recommend you DON'T buy that particular wire. Fused Clapton wires (with 2 or more inner core wires that are give a 'flat' profile) generally work well and give decent wire to cotton contact and flavour, but twisted inner core wires in claptons don't give particularly good results IMO.

Another thing that puts me off that wire is they are dual 28 gauge with a (too thick) 32 gauge outer wrap. 32 gauge is OK wrapper around thicker wires like 24ga or thicker but not that good wrapped around thinner coils.

If you are looking at fused Claptons dual 28 will be good for single coil RDL but try to get a wire with a thinner outer wrap of 36 (38 is better lol). It will cost a few more £ but a 10 foot spool makes a LOT of coils.

Sorry I'm a bit late but if you haven't already bought the spool of Pirate Wire - don't. I've had a few spools of their wires in the past and I ended up binning it. Coilology, Wotofo and Vandy Vape all sell wire spools that are relatively cheap but far better than Pirate Coil for machine wrapped wires.

Welcome to the Planet.

Edit - sorry mate I thought I was replying to someone who recently joined and got my names confused. I'm still a bit baggy headed after New Years lol.

No no I havn't bought the pirate wire but I have purchased 15ft of the geek vape twisted clapton wire 28ga*2+32ga". I'm still trying to get my head around the numbers; I have a rough idea of what's going on with inner and outer wires just no practice. If the geekvape isn't great for my purposes could you recommend any specific spool of wire to check out and maybe get me started? Or even to buy next time? Much appreciated.

Ok I just read your edit comment again. Was this post for someone else? I'm confused.

Funny, I must be speshul, canny use my Kumo cos it dryhits me oot the box....

Well if it ever needs adoption, I will definitely offer it a home @John R ;)

I had just read a post from a new member and didn't realise I'd clicked on another thread. My answer was about your question, but I thought I was still talking to the other guy lol.

If you've already ordered the wire I advise you try it first rather than buying something else straightaway - I don't care for it, but your opinion may differ.

2 wires I've found decent for RDL are the Coilology MTL Staple and Coilology dual 28/36, but they are Ni80 (I don't know if nickel is suitable for you).
