Better Access To Toilets And An E-cig Ban For Wales (BBC News)

From what I saw (I assume it's the same story) 78% were opposed and a number of major bodies like ASH and cancer uk are against it but they're still going ahead because 'think of the kids, we just don't know'.

I literally do not understand how this is allowed to happen.

Only answers I can think of are "wilfully ignorant" and "bribed".

EDIT: I forgot "tax revenues".

Welsh Vapers Facing A Mountain To Climb | Planet of the Vapes

All of this, of course, assumes that Wales will still exist by 2017.

Maybe. Did you know, that every year, part of the Amazon rain forest the size of Wales is flattened. I say, why not flatten Wales, and turn it into a car park or something, and stop fuckin about. :D

Clive's take on the news :

Wales vaping ban: silver lining may be larger than cloud « The counterfactual

Whilst the comments from the ASH, CRUK etc are welcome, I still think they are 'fair weather friends' and will change their tune once the MHRA licensing kicks in.

Interesting that Clive points out the differences between policy in England vs Wales. Hopefully, England will steer more towards the policy direction he quotes, but one worry for me is that the Welsh ban will be viewed as a pilot scheme and after the inevitable, cherry picked consequences of the Welsh ban are publicised, PHE will decide that a blanket ban would be just fine and dandy for England too.

The hammer IS coming down little by little. It's not a question of how hard or when, it IS coming down now & it will hit.

I see us being able to vape at home & outdoors or in our vehicles but it will be harder for us to obtain what we want. Nicotine concentrate will be mega restricted & that will even make our diy almost redundant. Only licenced vendors will be allowed to supply restricted strengths of eliquid & it will cost more than it does now.

Welcome to the future of vaping, no point in living under a rock. Doesn't matter what any of us thinks in the UK, we are going to feel the crunch, i'm totally convinced, they don't like us & they don't want us.

The 'Better Access to Toilets' part of this article is brilliant!

"Councils will also be expected to produce a local toilets' strategy and to involve shops and other businesses in providing "creative solutions" ..."

Whatever do they have in mind?

Copies of the vaping legislation to piss on?
