What's new

Boris Johnson says a second wave has arived!

that’s the thing, rye flour for the sourdough starter was easy to get in a wee shop down the road. it was the supermarkets, with aisles full of bread, that were totally cleared out of bread flour.
There's a rumour all the flour was controlled by Sourdough Scarface and he sat there with a giant pile of flour getting high on his own supply.
I heard it was a home economics teacher that couldn't afford her cancer treatment that teamed up with some little asbo enthusiast and created the purest sourdough on the market?

The thing is, the deaths aren't reflecting the cases.

Less people are getting actually sick, less people are going into hospital and if all you have is 20 deaths a day then we should be happy with that, god knows we all know how many smoking related deaths happen every single day.

To me it just feels like an over reliance on numbers and statistics that mean nothing. OMG the cases have gone up by 100%!!!! but 100% of what? 1?

Buzzwords and misleading statistics creating a picture that may not be the real thing. We all know what it was like back in March and April to warrant what has come afterwards, are things really that bad now in comparison?

Oh and for thousands of people to die every week, how many positive tests per day do you reckon we had in the beginning? 10s of thousands , so perhpas the country is more immune to the virus than the country is letting on, after all the majority of our positive tests are simply just that, we don;t get the negative test results to compare it to broadcast.

You get the percentage of the tests that were positive here, that tells you that more people are that being tested are testing positive now because it's almost quadrupled over the last few weeks.

Hospital admissions are rising and deaths have too, not massively but that's down to mainly younger people testing positive. They will eventually pass it on to people that it will kill.

As much as you can say statistics can be used to scaremonger, they can also make people complacent which I see a lot more of than scaremongering. But it's all fine.... hands, face, space and the rule of 6. Everyone is following that just lovely.
