Broadside mech very hard to fire/not firing

Hi everyone, I am getting back into my mechs and am currently using the Broadside mod with the clutch mechanism style switch.

I've set up the 510 end so it is making contact with the battery, and also adjusted the bottom contact inside the switch to make contact, but sometimes the mod doesn't fire and I have to press the button extremely hard to make it fire.

When I remove the bottom with the delrin button that presses on the clutch, if I just press the clutch with my finger it is definitely making contact with the sides of the mod and firing how it should. But as soon as I screw it back together and use the actual button, which should do the same thing as my finger, I either get it not firing or having to press really hard at the edge of the button to make it work.

Any idea what could be going on here? As the Broadside is one of my favourite mechs and I would like to get it running smoothly again.

Please ignore this thread- I was an idiot and cleaned the outside of the mech, but not the inside.

I cleaned where the clutch mechanism makes contact, cleaned all the threads, and it is firing with ease now.

Love my BJ Boxmods mechs, I've got 2 Broadsides and an Admiral. Possibly one of my favourites.
I do have an Admiral as well myself, but it isn't the best clone and doesn't have the insulation inside for extra safety- that is unless it is just the broadside that is lined with delrin to protect from any nicks in the battery wrapper you might have missed.

I think this is very important especially where you are meant to put the 18650 in positive side down, the opposite to most mechs, as a tear in the wrapper with positive down would lead to an instant hard short, and from my other thread you probably realise I have experienced this in my Abaddon dual parallel mech when I accidentally put the batteries in series instead of parallel.

The heat was pretty much instant, no time to slide off the bottom sliding panel that clips into place, so I lobbed it straight out of my window into the front garden. About an hour later I went to the mod- no damage to the mod but the battery wraps had nearly completely melted away and the batteries had obviously vented.

I never made that mistake again thats for sure.

Slightly of subject, I have a nice immortal grip mech but it's been sprayed green and not very well. I would like to take it back original colour. Has anyone of a idea on how to achieve this?

Is it literally spray paint? If so I think a bit of white spirit and elbow grease would get the green off and back to it's original finish.

I believe it was done by a car sprayer but obviously they hadn't done mods before and the pain is chipping in places and it looks horrible.

If it was done by a car sprayer I imagine it has a final layer protecting the paint underneath.

You may need to use something abrasive, make sure it is a very fine abrasive, to work this coating off before the white spirit will work on removing the spray paint.

I've been told to take it apart and put it in paint stripper but I don't want to ruin the original finish.

Thats what I would do if it was me, put it in paint stripper/white spirits. What is the original finish of the mod? Also remember you may need to remove the protective layer for the paint stripper to work properly.
