I’ve bought bits separately. It felt a bit indulgent to buy a whole kit when I wasn’t sure I was going to commit to it. I got a handy coil-windy thing with an rta @rew very kindly sent me, and I already had some quality (sewing) scissors, I got some wire cutters, and that got me started.
you’d be better to get stuff separate, i would say. all you really need is scissors, snips and some toothpicks. most atties come with a wee screwdriver, allen key or whatever is needed to sort it out.
I’ve had my CM kit for a few years now, and it’s still going strong, apart from the Ohm Measure thing, fine for burning your coils, but the ohm reading was never that accurate on it. Besides, you have all your coil stuff in a handy case.
