What's new

can't decide what RTA should i get

so i got the YFTK dvarw FL 22 last week and i really like , using the one hole 0.8 airflow and i gotta say the quality and finishing is amazing , but sometimes i get good flavour and other times it's muted , i got the wicking right and no dry hits and it never leaked , so anyone got tips for coil postioning ? i'm using hand made alien( 29*2/38) ni80 coil 2.5mm ohms at 0.5 .

thank you guys for helping me out

Are you using the same juice all the time?

I seem to remember somebody saying to position the coil high for throat hit, and lower for flavour. Haven't actually tried it though. I tend to just position it a mm or 2 above the airflow hole, and flavour always seems decent to me.

Yeah I always go for about 2mm above as a starting point.

It is worth trying out a few of the other airflow options - particularly if you are using slightly wider complex coils like the aliens you're currently using (and bumping the power up a little to compensate for any increased airflow with a larger diameter insert). Sometimes this boosts the flavour because you are vaporising a little more juice.

Disclaimer I prefer a loose MTL and 0.8 airpin territory is a complete mystery to me. So I could be talking shit.

thanks guys i figured it out , i know what i'm about to say maybe wrong because in most RTAs when you bring the coil down close to the airflow you get better flavour and up for more throat hit , i tried that multiple times and it didn't feel right , so i tried lifting the coil up , if the coil jig is resting on the deck i pull it up 2mm , and i don't know why but that brought back the flavour and it's sweeter now ( fruits), i'll keep testing with different liquids ( currently using pink panther ) .

thank you

Yes that's exactly what we meant. I do this for every MTL RTA.
