Cheap 72mg nic post TPD

Hardly, speaking the truth is just the truth. If it doesn't suit its not pissing on a bonfire, it's still just the truth.

You can buy 1000mg nic direct from China, I've used their lower strength stuff to try it out and its good actually. Just because you can get it somewhere though, doesn't make it legal to do so or unfair if somebody somewhere gets wind of it and stops it.

Hi PlumeBlu,

I respect your vendor status, and obvious knowledge on the subject.
However it is perfectly legal (under current legislation) for me to buy nicotine from the USA, as long as I do not try to import 100mg, as that would be classed as a poison here in the UK.
Using it in my own mixes for personal consumption is also outside the TPD / TRPR regulations.

OK, two things.

1: You can buy nicotine from outside the EU as long as it's not over 75mg/ml which is the upper limit before a license is needed (unless it's been changed recently), however it isn't legal for you to do so - it's just that you are able to.

2: You can buy it just fine, the business selling it to you cannot sell it if it's intended to be purchased within the EU. At the point where it comes over 20mg/ml and 10ml bottle it falls under TPD regulations which is a blanket law for sales within the EU. I can sell my old bottles of juice in whatever size I like and whatever strength I like as long as it's outside the EU, apart from where local laws stop this happening. I can send it but their customs can stop it and can issue warnings to the company doing the shipping. It's all a don't know/won't say kind of thing, pleading ignorance if you will but it doesn't make it legal.

Using it in your own mixes is perfectly fine but you take the risk of it being stopped at customs. That's about as far as they would go usually for personal use.

Well I beg to differ, but then again may fall foul of things in the future.

Its not purchased in the EU, its purchased in the US

Strange, nowt's happened with my stuff, apart from customs charging me VAT on the vaIue.

Why would I want to take it out of the country, iv'e only just got it here...............

Yes but it is supplied to the EU, it's the point of entry where it becomes law

Again, it doesn't make it legal. It just means that your parcels are not being checked or customs don't have the resources to enforce a little bit of nicotine coming through. Parcelforce will always try and bundle your charges on.

I'm not sure what you mean. It has to pass customs on the way into the country and they could stop and seize your parcel at that point. You are getting away with it which is cool but it pays to be aware that you are grey importing a regulated product.

You did not comment on this though.

I did...

So basically, nothing has happened with your stuff. That's customs not checking parcels. VAT and duty is arranged by parcelforce (not customs) because they have arrangements to collect this - they don't check parcels, they just charge and add an extra £8 on for their own clearance service.

Actually its £12....................

Wow, they were a ripoff before they increased that then.

I hate having to pay a charge to clear something that also needs payment. But it's why they have the monopoly on mail clearance because they rake it in with their additional fee (for doing nothing)

Well at the end of the day I hope we can both agree (despite having some differing interpretations) that the whole TPD / TRPR regs are an ill conceived, badly thought out, badly implemented, confusing, full of grey areas pile of rubbish :)
