Cheap 72mg nic post TPD

Here you go, someone posted this up this morning elsewhere as they are awaiting something clearing from overseas. Yes it's FedEX but the same applies for all carriers when they get told by customs to do so:

Hi PlumeBlu,

Very interesting link.
But as we both agreed last night, that the whole TPD / TRPR regs are an ill conceived, badly thought out, badly implemented, confusing, full of grey areas pile of rubbish.
Going by the information on that weblink it is difficult to see how buying from the US, and importing it to the UK contravenes these guidance notes, unless I took it to the stage where I was then retailing eliquid made with it, which I'm not.

Just because it's badly implemented doesn't mean it's not still law though bud.

If you were retailing liquid with it and it's to a business address (which in fact this case actually was) could actually pass OK as B2B sales aren't restricted by TPD laws. It's ONLY applicable to any sale to end user withing the EU.

Like I said before, you are getting away with it, that's cool but arguing the toss with someone who knows how the law applies, where it's being misunderstood and is ultimately only trying to offer advice for you down the line won't change the fact that nicotine products from outside the EU fall under TPD the moment they get to customs.

To be fair it was never a loophole, it was downright illegal.
Indeed, that much was always clear. Was only a matter of time before the game was up for these guys. Unfortunate in some ways. Those of us who had sufficient warning and time were able to stock up but it's going to be a real bind for those new to the game.

Thing is, it doesn't necessarily mean that items will get stopped at customs, just that if they choose to stop something they can do. I would guess the volume of what is ordered will play into it too and anything looking worthy of investigation may be opened to be checked.

I’ve been on and off about ordering 500ml, was under the impression that it wasn’t unlawful because it’s not being sold by a uk vendor. I wonder , if it was bought with paypal, how it would stand if it was returned to the vendor?

I'm not sure to be honest but my guess would be the vendor would either have to authorise the refund when they got the goods back or if they were destroyed by customs you would lose the money.

I’m not sure either. It’s maybe better not to get too into a discussion on the forum, I reckon.

Bet a load of Vaping customs officers at Stanstead are diy ing with 72mg nic. [emoji16]
I knew a guy from Kent who was an alcoholic from working at customs bonded warehouse where non duty paid spirits were held. The disposal methods were interesting.
