Why is Morrisons selling ECITA Member "E-Lites" in the pharmacy section?

Our local Morrisons has them too.
Unfortunately it seems that the sale and/or advertising of eCigs is subject to the same type of discrimination as most other things in this wonderful country of ours. The more money/resources you have, the less you have to concern yourself with abiding to laws and regulations.
The upshot being, if you are a small vendor, or an individual trying to make a living from the eCig industry, you will find it an uphill struggle. On the other hand, if you are a large cash-rich corporation, you can do whatever you like. Sound familiar?

I have a big problem with these being sold above childrens medication, the company being a member of ECITA... Im just hoping its bad product placement on Morrisons behalf, but ECITA and ELITES should be all over this.

whilst i understand anyone connected with vaping will not like to see e-cigs in that section, i still feel its better to see them in the shop at all, my first reaction was "medical by the back door" but then i got to thinking about it, and thought just what isle in you local supermarket would you expect to find e-cigs in ??? at least your not having to ask the Pharmacist for them! :54:

I've seen them all over for the last couple of weeks. Most notably in the pharmacy attached to my Doctor's surgery.

Shows the "we don't know if they're safe" argument up a little bit don't you think, because since medical regulations aren't in place how can these products possibly live up to them?

But hey, I started on cigalikes, lots of people will try better devices after these.

Im not concerned about the pharmacy more so than the "right above childrens cough medicines" which to me is just...off.

I am glad to see them in any store, but most of the ones I spot are sold by the cigs or on the counters of smaller shops and not next to kids medicine.

Why? Children don't buy children's medicine... adults do... often from the same aisle as condoms.

yes i totally agree with that, but its about perception in "joe publics mind" cigs = bad for you, so i think selling them next to the cigs sends mixed messages cant be good for vaping in the long run?:hmm:

Public perception simple as. The claims that the kids are going to be affected by ecigs and get addicted...sell them near childrens medicine, parents go to pick some up... maybe theyre smokers and grab an elite and become a vaper... yay! or maybe they are strongly ANTI tobacco and see ecigs by childrens medication and are reminded of the Daily Fail article that says "ECIGS LEAD KIDS TO SMOKING" and go home and rant and rave about...

Either way, youd be shocked at some of the seemingly innocent marketing tactics out there.

I dont like them being sold by childrens medicine, I dont like them being sold in medicine aisles either. I would rather seem them by the TOBACCO that were trying to get smokers away from. not kids medicine.
