China Covid-19 numbers

I'm not commenting but this might be worth digging into...

@oldhippydude

Edit: Can't see any numbers so maybe not useful for data.

I have bookmarked it in case I have a spare week.

I actually think for the uk the most important trends to follow to understand what is coming our way are Italy Spain and France.

East asia is interesting in terms of are countries like south Korea, and Hong Kong just delaying an inevitable peak (delaying the peak does seem to be a good idea)

What happens when countries control the initial surge then reduce restrictions? The China numbers should be where we get that info. If we can not trust the China numbers we are waiting for Itally and Spain who are unfortunate enough to be the trail blazers.

I have not said this on POTV before, and obviously I can't mull it over with friends right now.
But I have mentioned it to my wife a couple of times.
I have not mentioned it on POTV because I would probably be branded a racist, which I certainly am not, having many friends of different nationalities, and having worked all over the world for 20 odd years.

However you have sparked something of similar with your post when mentioning different infection rates in different Continents / Countries etc.

What influence does the varied social norms, customs, habits, etc have on the ramp up rates of infection ?

I think there is a correlation that can be made quite easily, particularly as the virus can show no symptoms for up to 2 weeks while one person can infect another.

Japanese bowing is probably less spreadericious than English hand-shaking. I don't know where you'd find that in a statistic but it seems commonsensical.

As long as you don't bow and sneeze at the same time

That's the sort of thing I'm on about mate.
Now looking closer towards home, consider the countries in Europe.
Any similar things going on there ?

I am not qualified to make any comment on the numbers but i urge you to check out the utube channel Voice of Thunder hosted by Phil Mason a very smug git but he is qualified to make sense of the numbers and does talk straight.

For the time being i would suggest that we accept the numbers, and any errors in any numbers be put down to honest errors and flaws in the collection. Of which there are bound to be many..
