Coil lenght?

Does anyone have a rule of thumb for the total length unwrapped coils. I'm enjoying 28/38 fused Clapton's, say 6mm leg length. What would the total length for a 6 wrap coil with 3mm inner diameter? I just hate building and then wasting stuff or having to drop a wrap. Thanks for any help.

I cut off 10cm per coil but mine are 2.5mm ID.

I've been using that calculator for years. How have I missed that!?

I always cut my 28*2/38 Ni80 fused clapton wire at 10cm, for a 5 wrap.

About 5 - 5 1/2
