Am I right in thinking a 26 gauge Clapton coils use thinner wire than 28 gauge? And am I right in thinking that the thinner wire would ramp up quicker and need less power?

although, less wire mass will usually help just because you don't have as much wire to heat up...... massive fat coils need a lot of power for that reason. .... it might not be a massive difference between 26 and 28 though, it's all relative I guess.

if you are suffering from very slow ramp up, you could try a different type of wire, N80 or SS...

if you post your whole deal up .... metal/power/resistance etc then I expect someone will give some pointers.

I usually go for 28/36 Clapton but was thinking 26/30 would be better. Usually use ss316L or 430 but do sometimes use Ni80. I don't like Kanthal or Ni200 have never tried titanium

Ni200 & Titanium are both TC only wires, just in case you weren't aware. SS or Ni80 are both good wires to work with. One thing with claptons though is to try and keep 10awg difference between core & wrap. Say 26/36 or 24/34.

Thanks. I generally vape TC anyway or replay mode. I only use Ni80 when I run out of steel. I'll see about 26/36. I generally go for around .333 spaced but sometimes it's .21 at most
