What's new

Coronavirus UK Daily Statistics

I generally agree with what you are saying.
But not sure about fatalities going up further.

The reason for saying that is because infections per day are soaring, but the number of deaths is not rising at the same rate.

This could be as you quite rightly say because of the factor of delay.

But it could also be due to the fact that back in Sept, or Oct, the virus was first found to have mutated again, and the new strain whilst much more infectious, did not cause anywhere near as much damage to the body.
Couple that with the fact that medics are becoming more skilled in selecting drugs to use to treat the affected.
Time will tell. I hope to God you are right mate but 1041 deaths just reported and it's still way too early for Xmas / new year and the recent sky high cases to be a factor. I fear the next month or two are going to be incredibly grim. I really hope I'm proven wrong.

As you say mate, only time will tell, but I hope I am right.

It is getting out of hand now. But as said some folks won't do as they are asked or listen to common sense. There must be over a million folks with Covid and a load of those do not realise they have it and are spreading it.
68'053 more cases today, the highest since the begining, and as prediected by me its a week since New Year. Obviously there are to many folks breaking the guidelines, one thing those folks do not realise is there will be new rules made law and they may never be removed after that and then folks will wonder what they have caused.

I just wanted to post so we don't forget that although England is officially under a full lockdown that the locked down part only consists of some recreational and retail activities.
The rest of the country including myself are still out working.
Manufacturing, prisons, carehomes, supermarkets, garden centres, hardware shops, smaller food shops, takeaways, even high street and retail park shops are doing click and collect.
Offices and call centres are still operating beit socially distanced but when you actually drill through it not that much has actually stopped functioning.
I'd say roughly 90% is still functioning and providing possible opportunities for the virus to spread.

That's just maths, innit?
1 plus 7 = 8
:):)
Haha You can't count NYE as the virus was most likely spread from 12 am when folks hugged and shouted happy new year and the spit flew onto others, either way it is a week into New Year and the cases have hit the highest ever, Because folks would not stay home.
