What's new

Coronavirus UK Daily Statistics

Fair enough, I have edited my post to say deaths, rather than cases, just to please you. :)

Maybe it was not in your opinion, but in mine it was justified.
How else would you have described the difference in values of 500 against 900 per day ?
Large, massive, great, minimal ?

It seems to me that you are trying to intimate that I am a cold hearted bastard, with no emotions.
That is as far from the truth as you could be.

I have witnessed tragedy many times in my life, including rescuing people with their feet, hands, and arms trapped in machinery.
Some of my best friends have died over the years in tragic circumstances, the most recent was one of my brother in laws, at only 40 years old.
In recent months one of my best friends father died of covid.
At several funerals the grieving wife, or sister would only speak to me at the funeral, because they felt supported by me.

Maybe you did not like the way in which my post was written. But I make no apology for this, a major part of my work for the last 25 years included writing reports in a clear, and concise manner.
Do you really think that the NHS, the government advisors, and the Cabinet Ministers, start, and end every comment between themselves with "it saddens me to say" or "I have awful" news, or "my heart goes out to their families" of course it does not !

Your own post was "60,916 new cases and 830 new deaths in the United Kingdom" not at all compassionate, same style as mine.

So do not try to make out that I am some sort of uncaring monster !
I just copy and paste from here.

eyes, face, smile, nothing else :D

Sounds like another of them government slogans, hands, face, space......................:18:

Eh, you didn't write those government ones did you ?

I will stick with my old one, Stay Lucky. :)

Works with women as well, now, and again. :)

A couple of days ago the daily average was just over 600 deaths. As has been reported ad nauseum; it takes time to get infected, become ill, deteriorate and then die. With 50k+ new infections daily and the Chrismas and new year infections not even visible yet, fatalities are sadly going to increase even with an immediate lockdown because of the aforementioned lag.

I generally agree with what you are saying.
But not sure about fatalities going up further.

The reason for saying that is because infections per day are soaring, but the number of deaths is not rising at the same rate.

This could be as you quite rightly say because of the factor of delay.

But it could also be due to the fact that back in Sept, or Oct, the virus was first found to have mutated again, and the new strain whilst much more infectious, did not cause anywhere near as much damage to the body.
Couple that with the fact that medics are becoming more skilled in selecting drugs to use to treat the affected.

Have we decided on a winner yet?,because it's beginning to seem like our house is on fire and you two are arguing over what colour to paint the walls.

Whom are you asking ?

If it's me, well myself, and the wife are having a bit of a tiff over what colour to paint our bedroom this week. :)

I get it i truly do,we're all stuck inside our houses with fcuk all to do and we all feel powerless in controlling this virus so a little 'to & fro' with another member is just what the Doctor ordered.
What i would like to say is that if it was only 50 people dying every fcuking day,day in & day out that would still scare me/piss me right off. So please stop arguing about the number of fatalities each day and just agree that it's been too high for too long.
I worry about some of our members during this pandemic because a lot of you wasn't the full shilling before it started.
