Hey guys. I've visted this forum a few times over the years, but only just decided to make an account.

I vaped for about 4-5 years and then gave up earlier this year. I've found myself self smoking the odd cigarette lately, and I feel gross for it. So, time to get another vaping setup I think!

I've only used a few different tanks, but the last tank I was using was an Aspire Nautilus with an eleaf istick (30w). The lowest resistance coils for the Nautilus are 1.6 ohm, so that's what I used. Even though those coils are supposed to last a couple of weeks, they only lasted me 2-3 days. I only vape liquid that is at least 70% VG, and I'm told this is why the coils burned out so fast..?

So, this time round, I want to get a tank with lower resistance coils, simply so that they last longer, but I'm not looking to get into cloud chasing with a sub ohm setup or anything crazy. I'm quite cautious of sub ohm-ing. I also don't want to produce ridiculous clouds like that because I'll burn through my liquid way too fast! I was fairly happy with the clouds I got from my 1.6 ohm coils, though a little extra wouldn't hurt eh :P

* I think something around 1 - 1.2 ohm would be probably good for me. Do you guys think that would work well for 70% - 100% VG liquids? Do you have any recommendations for tanks with coils around this range (I need about 5ml capacity btw)?

* I'll need a budget VV/VW battery to go with it to start with, so I'm guessing the eleaf istick is still the good budget battery to get?

* Eventually I'd like to get a VV/VW box mod where I can replace the batteries and keep the box. Any suggestions on one of those too?

Thanks :)

I'm not too sure on the tank, I only use tanks which I build my own coils for. But as for a box mod, there's a great sale on at dnavapes. Might be worth a look... [emoji106]

+ 1 Top tank mini. It has 1.2 ohmers and 4.5 ml as well as many other coil options and an RBA to have a go at DIY as well. I use 70% VG liquids in with the 1.2 and 1.5 ohm coils, but don't expect to push the wattage to high with them. 16-17 watts is as high as you'll generally want to go with the 1.2 ohm coils, and it'll conserve your liquid and still produces a decent amount of vapour. You can buy various 0.5 ohm coils or a 0.15 ohm Ni200. With TC you don't necessarily have to vape them at high wattage either ;).

Any Eleaf will do the job too if you want to stick with what you know ;).

Worry about a different type of box mod after you've sorted out a new vaping kit, OR, save some money and go straight for a box mod now rather than buying one to get you going and buying a second one later anyway.

For what you're describing a dual 18650 mod might suit you best. Budget for 2 pairs of batteries and a seperate charger as well. You could get all of that covered with something like the Joyetech Cuboid for £60-65 as an example. Obviously there are countless choices out there. They're not particularly big but they are quite heavy. Easy to use, decent performance and some decent features for the price as well. Plus, they're still providing firmware updates to improve the devices further.

Good luck getting back off the tobacco. Doesn't matter how long you end up vaping for in the future as long as it keeps you off tobacco ;).

If you get to building your own coils (and it really isn't difficult, and saves a lot of money and hassle) you could get any of a large array of RTAs that would replicate the MTL experience of the Nautilus (which I presume you enjoyed). I liked the Nauty Mini too, a long time ago, but the cost and availability of the coil heads, plus the fact that they are nearly impossible to rebuild, led me to discard it.

You could get a tank like a Taifun GT2 v2, Rose v2/3 or a Kayfun v3(+) (which I'm vaping on right now - it's *great*) which offer some of the best MTL, flavour-chasing experiences at 1 Ohm+ resistances and pair one with something like a Pico mod.

You could get a Pico and one of those RTAs for, say, USD$30 for the Pico, and USD$12 for the RTA and then get at least 2 18650s, preferably 4, and a decent external charger, and you could fit all that in a budget of USD$75 or so if you got them at Fasttech. :)

To get you going again, and I know it's not exactly what you asked for but have a look at the Joyetech AIO, or Innokin Endura range. My better half uses the AIO and it's a great little device, takes a 0.6ohm coil (higher may be available, I haven't checked), which sounds low, but it's not #cloudzbrocloudz, you can either MTL or restrictive lung hit it, it works a treat with high VG liquids and a coil usually lasts her about three weeks.

If you're after a VW mod have a look at the iStick Pico, EVIC VTC Mini or Coolfire 4, which should suit your needs while not breaking the bank.

With these guy's. Normally we would probably all recommend the nautilus but if the juice you like is burning the coils obviously that's not the way to go. What wattage where you using on the nautilus as I tend to get a good ten days out of mine. You can get 1.2 coils for the nautilus (mini trition coils).
The tank that looks like it best suits is as the guys say a toptank mini. Top fill large capacity and coils of many types and ohms.

Thanks for the help, guys! What a nice welcome to the forum :)

I've noted down all the suggestions so far and hope to make a purchase today. And from your suggestions, I've discovered there's a whole new load of vaping terms I'd never heard of before - RDA, RBA, RTA... Temperature Control etc.... I don't really know what's best for what to be honest...

I think I may just scrap the cheap battery idea and go straight in for something decent. I assumed I'd have to spend over £100 for a good box mod and replaceable battery setup with a charger..

Just to make my vaping habbits a little cleaer - I vaped 70-100% VG liquid on the Nautilus with 1.6 ohm coils at anywhere from about 8.5-12.5 Watts for the most part. I use quite low nicotine liquid (anywhere from 1.5-6 mg), and high VG liquid has less of a throat hit, so I suppose I like a hot vape to make up for that. I was doing mouth to lung hits, but then the top hardware kinda broke off and I could no longer use the drip tip. I then just started inhaling straight to lung and getting some pretty sweet clouds haha. Anyway, I guess the option to inhale via either method would be nice. I like both.

I'll edit my original post a little bit to explain things better if I can figure out how.

Thanks again :)

The triton mini is a cracking mtl tank with the 1.2 coils ,And if you fancy some clouds there's lower ohms coils available.Basically any mod is going to do just pick one you like and can afford I'm partial to Tesla mods cheapish but the build quality on them is something else.sammy.
