Covid-19 - natural / man made debate - does it matter?

The americans seem to be serious about the possibility of it having accidentally escaped from the lab in wuhan. @Crewella posted a washington post article in the other thread, about alerts about lax safety standards. They’ve been experimenting in there with bat coronaviruses, that is known.

Maybe she could post it here, it’s quite relevant. I got carried away for a couple of days reading the comments.

there is a lot of debate over the Wuhan market thing but read that in November 14 people had the virus half never went to the market or had a connection to it

There is also evidence to suggest a scientist in interviews said he harvested viruses lots of them from caves with bats wearing very little ppe in China for the military and some of the bat urine he had been exposed to so he quarantined himself for a 14 days this was after the restrictions came into place

there are so many threads it’s a big ball of wool we will never know

and if they did know we still will never know

edit ninjed above

Did !? Sorry - no clue ............. :D

Didn't a colony of African killer bees escape from a science facility in Brazil in 1956 and are now travelling further north each year.
These crass accidents do happen, usually due to human error. That being said the way China has behaved throughout this outbreak has left me doubting them.
Here's cross threading for you. Something to brighten your day...

hope these figures are WRONG

In the first few months of 2020, as the COVID-19 coronavirus disease pandemic sprouted in China, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology published figures showing a drop of about 21 million cellphone users and 840,000 landline users. According to The Associated Press, online data published by China’s three largest cellphone carriers indicated that for January and February 2020, China Mobile Ltd. reported a drop of nearly 7.25 million subscribers, while China Unicom Hong Kong Ltd. lost 7.8 million subscribers and China Telecom Corp. lost 5.6 million in February alone.

As of April 2020, China had reported a total of about 81,000 COVID-19 cases and about 3,300 deaths from the disease. Some sources seized on the disparity between the numbers of afflicted and cellphone subscribers to assert that the true COVID-19 death in China had been concealed and vastly underreported.

“21 Million Fewer Cellphone Users in China May Suggest a High CCP Virus Death Toll,” proclaimed a headline in The Epoch Times. “China Is Lying About the Number of COVID-19 Deaths,”

The decline in cellphone users is not linked to the number of people who died after being infected with coronavirus. Major cellphone carriers in China attributed the drop to people with multiple phone numbers canceling some service during the outbreak

I suspect 21 million cell phone users in China didn't want to be tracked during lockdown.

Did China start Covid 19 deliberately ?
If so do we boycott buying Chinese made vape goods ?
