yup... some people will call it progress, some it will effect negatively, some will make money from it, and some will grow up knowing nothing else. It always feels like it's been that way. I remember when I bought my first things online (records off ebay 20 years ago) I thought it was amazing.

That reminds me I still have pics from some ebay listings I did in the noughties...

Being kind of the person I am, I thought ebay would probably damage big businesses and 'normal' people would buy and sell stuff they no longer wanted on ebay, almost in like a modern trading/barter-type system. It didn't take long for it to change into something else though.

the facebook marketplace works more like what you describe, @Simon G . maybe because it’s much less mediated than ebay, despite being run by the illuminati. i don’t have a facebook but my wife does, we’ve bought and sold a couple of things on it.

@akuma You are utterly wasting your time. Your research/information would be far better deployed somewhere there is a more receptive audience. Even I can see you are so why do you persist? I have a radically different view from most on here, but I am here primarily for vape related stuff, I may not share a single one of the views and opinions expressed.....but that isn't why I am here, so why would I waste valuable learning time on giving others my opinions which will just rile them. Wise up man, you are becoming sport.

I'm pretty lost about what this thread is even about now.

I do worry about where we are heading, shops without staff, amazon and the like destroying independent retail sectors, technology taking over every aspect of our lives.

I just don't believe it's a conspiracy, it's like thinking cars were invented to destroy blacksmiths and poison the air..... and I don't think it has anything to do with Covid-19. Not sure why it's even in this section?
