What's new

Cthulhu Artemis rta

I keep noticing this, so sod it, will mention it. The draw is tighter on a full tank, then loosens off considerably, as the juice level drops, cant say I've ever had that with a tank before.

Bit of help needed for a newb lol.

How are people wicking this? I keep running the cotton dry and when I thin it out slightly it leaks. I had the same issue with the berserker 1.5. I just seem to be useless at wicking these style of decks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use the dam method, and push the cotton from the side into the top couple of threads. I try not to thin the cotton, just a slight fluffing, where I've compressed the cotton with the scissors.

I agree, I try to avoid thinning at all costs... it just gives you less cotton to absorb the liquid, less liquid getting to the coil imo. More cotton is always preferable to me .. cotton that's fat juicy and full of liquid. As long as it's not jammed so tight in the coil or liquid inlets you shouldn't be able to dry it out vaping normally.

The fact you can get it to flood/leak says the liquid has no problem getting to where the cotton should be and the wick shouldn't have any problems absorbing the liquid.

Try going the other way and using as much cotton as possible.

I’ve only got it to flood once because I was loosing my patience with dry hits. I thinned it out slightly that once and it started to leak. I just seem to struggle to find the sweet spot with wicking on these decks.

Shorter tails and let them sit just inside the wick slots, pushing the cotton through the wick slots and or beyond doesn't work for me.

I'll do an experiment for you later, I just cleaned mine so I need to recoil later.

Ok, no idea if this will help or not (I did take some pics after wicking etc but my cheap phone struggles with up close, so I won't bother posting those yet)

I just coiled and wicked as normal and primed the cotton until it was fat, juicy and fully saturated.

I put the tank together but didn't fill it and just vaped like I normally would on a bone dry tank while browsing the forum.

It took 23 puffs and 20 minutes before I got any hint of a dry hit.

I know that doesn't say anything about how well it's wicking from the tank because it had no liquid in it... but it gives you an idea of how much cotton I have in there. .... and if I can vape normally for 20 mins with no liquid flow at all, I can't see how it wouldn't ever keep up with me when it was full of liquid.

Maybe it does just come down to how we all vape differently?

2.5mm ID SS coil 0.6ish ohms .. about 10mm off a fiber freaks cotton blend no1 (that I kind of roll into a wick) ... 50/50 liquid, 12w.

2.5mm ID coil gives just the right amount of cotton for me without thinning the tails. I cut them so they just go through the wicking channels with a bit of cotton visible underneath.

yeah same... I can see just the tiniest amount of cotton underneath. I have quite a lot of cotton above too, this fiber freaks is naturally quite fluffy, so I have to pinch it quite a lot to get it through the coil but either side of it springs out to look like quite a large amount. When I first cut it it actually looks way too much until you start coaxing it into the hole and putting some liquid on it.
