Sorry for the second thread one after another.

Could you lovely lot supply some build photos for the wicking on this said tank?

I'm using the Bubble Glass so no juice control, and in the leaflet they supply they show a Angled cut for the wick, i just CANNOT seem to get it right, i have the Profile Unity RTA which has been a day one tank for me, i have always used Firebolt cotton (i swear by it) and not once ever had wicking issues or dry hits.

Before i put it away forever with other RTA tanks i could never correctly use, i wanna give it one last chance LOL.

Thank you again.

It's one of the few mesh RTAs I haven't tried (the Profile Unity is my fave too, I have two and use them every day).

I think @Lisa Bolton is a Doom fan though, so she may be able to offer some advice.

Can't fault the Unity at all, only issue i have is the ml capacity, i only have the 3.5ml Glass as my bubble glass broke a while ago, i did recently purchase a new one of Ebay last week and i got sent a 3.5 straight glass, when i messaged they said its basically a bubble glass because it as 1.5ml extra than the TPD tank... Fuming i was.

I appreciate any help, thank you for taking the time to message and Lisa for advice :)

No problem, hopefully Lisa can help ;)

I tried the bigger glass with the extension for the Unity but I found it reduced the flavour a little bit and looked a bit silly. Mine are both non-TPD ones though.

The Kylin M Pro and Dead Rabbit M RTAs both come close to the Unity and offer a really nice draw, but the flavour isn't quite as good with them being top airflow. There's the Profile M too, which did have good flavour but was let down by it's plastic tank, horrible top-cap and being super thirsty. I was hoping the Profile X would be a worth successor to the Unity but from the reviews I've read it seems like a step backwards in all aspects.

Hi, this was one of my first mesh rtas and at the time I was not using the angled cut like we are used to now. Take a look at Wendy reviews Doom X mesh RTA on YouTube. That's what I followed.

You haven't stated what your issues are, I'm assuming dry hits? In that case it might be

1. Hot spots on your mesh strips,
2. The ultem insert can compress the top of the cotton, hence some initial minor raking could be required, I rake mostly from underneath.
3. a n other..

this cut looks about right

Fluff out (not done below), maybe a bit of raking from below, then cut a slight angle (black lines), fluff again

You want the cotton to sit nicely to the bottom of the deck but not too much, after soaking the cotton let it expand and see if it needs a trim horizontally at the base, making sure the cotton sits nicely with no gaps, to help prevent leaking.

I haven't used mine for ages. Brilliant guide @andipandi

I preferred the original Doom mesh RTA but that only had 5ml capacity. Had a couple of those before I found that I love the RDTAs

rewick, wish I'd taken a pic of the preexisting mesh strip and wicking, it was trashed, but you can see how well the mesh strip cleaned up

Trim excess, blow on the cotton, yep, blow on it!

I knew there would be too much cotton up top and the ultem insert would compress it

Untidy but fine for this stage

You can see the compression, was getting close to a dry hit so pulled the cotton out ,trimmed it horizontally, where it sits in the base of the deck. This after the trim and the tidy up. May not last, might be a hot spot, aint mesh a bitch, but you get the idea
